This morning the Trophy Room of Trentino Volley hosted the meeting between Angelo Lorenzetti and the media. In view of the participation of Diatec Trentino in the Final Four of Del Monte® Coppa Italia 2017, the trainer, who is defending champion after winning the last two editions with Modena, presented the important appointment at the Unipol Arena of Casalecchio di Reno (Bologna).
“The bookmakers place us third for the final victory; I have great respect for their work and I too see that we aren’t the favourite team. – admitted the trainer - . We are a little bit behind the main suspects for winning the trophy, but it is also true that in such competition something else can happen compared to what had been predicted the day before. The semi-final will be a difficult and special match, mainly because of what is at stake. Modena is a Club that has won five out of the last six Italian events and it should be respected also for this reason. They are good to make the opponent’s side-out troubled, starting from the service where nobody is afraid to take risks; it has also shown during the last years that it has a great mental endurance when the matches are so important. We need to attack without being afraid of making mistakes, with the right mentality. For us Saturday’s match will be an occasion to learn and try to defeat who has recently been superior”.
“Lanza didn’t play the last two matches, but he feels good and on Saturday he will be in Bologna – added Lorenzetti-. Last week I made different choices in area 4 in order to arrive to this appointment with more hitters well trained. Pippo did a great job with the athletic trainer Baratto and with the physiotherapist Lama, he’s ready. In the starting six I will confirm also Stokr, because he returned to play well and he has to face the Final Four without any pressure. Nelli comes from an injury and he isn’t as fit as the others in terms of play. Sometimes some physical problems can occur, but we have been very lucky because we worked well with all fourteen players in the gym. The players have to learn to be more empathetic, to help each other in the difficult moments. From this point of view we can grow also in this weekend. In the other semi-final Civitanova is the favourite team because compared to last season it has grown, but it won’t have an easy life. Piacenza has good numbers, with players who are agonistically very valid: if they play the way they can, they are able to put in doubt any result”.
