In the weekend the thirty-ninth Coppa Italia of the Male Volleyball will be assigned at the Unipol Arena of Casalecchio di Reno (Bologna). A trophy that has always been considered for its prestige and value by the participants as pennant or an European success, since by the way it grants the access to an European Cup (in this case the 2018 CEV Cup) and the presence in the Final Four of Supercoppa Italiana of next season. Also the Hall of Fame of the event proves it and in it there are only great names, starting with Modena (two times Champion in charge), to continue also Parma, way through the present with Treviso, Cuneo, Macerata (now Civitanova), Piacenza and Trento.
All the four teams in semifinal of Saturday afternoon have already won the trophy; Trentino Volley seeks the fourth success of all time, which will let him reach Lube in the numbers of victories and repeat what happened three seasons ago (35th edition), when at the Mediolanum Forum the team won its last Coppa Italia overtaking for 3-1 the team from Marche on December 30th 2012. This time the match against Modena, which has conquered the last two editions of the trophy, wil be already in the second semifinal.
