Trento, 28th March 2017

At PalaTrento Trentino Diatec finds again its best shape and takes an important first step towards its possible third European final in a row. Tonight the yellow-blue team its going team of semi-finals of 2017 CEV Cup, defeating by 3-0 the Turkish team of Fenerbahce Sk Istanbul. Thanks to this important result, to gain the qualification for the final Lanza and his team-mates will just win to win at least two sets in the return match, scheduled for Saturday night on the Bosphorus. The hosting team has achieved this important result thanks to an almost perfect performance in the first two sets, played with high percentages in attack and great efficiency both in the block and service phases. Trentino Diatec proved to be very determined in the third set, the only one in which its opponents tried to react. 9 yellow-blue aces (4 scored by Lanza) and the great show of the attack made great difference, especially in the first half of the match and less in the second one. The captain (awarded as mvp with 79% in attack) offered outstanding spikes. Among the yellow-blue players also Solé (58% in quick attack with two blocks) and Nelli (who didn’t score a lot but did very well in the block and service phases) played at high levels. In the other half of the field Fenerbahce suffered the negative performance of its setter Keskin and very low percentages of two of its three high-ball players (Toy 19%, Sket 23%).
