The elimination suffered in the semifinal series of the playoffs UnipolSai Championship in 2016 against DHL Modena ended a streak of six finals played consecutively by Trentino Volley. Stoytchev’s team until the last act of the 2016 CEV Volleyball Champions League (April 17th in Krakow) had in fact participated regularly at the final match of each competition for a year and three months and a half: the last time the Yellow-blues were eliminated before the final act of a tournament on January 28th 2014, when they lost coincidentally just from Modena in the quarterfinals playoffs Championship.
Subsequently were played the decisive races of the Italian Cup 2015, 2015 CEV Cup, playoffs Championship 2015, Italian Super Cup 2015, Italian Cup in 2016 and 2016 CEV Champions League. The company records from this point of view is 15 finals in a row, played between April 5th, 2009 (Trento vs. Iraklis 3-1 of Champions) and February 19th 2012 (Trento vs. Lube 3-2 of Italian Cup).
