Bologna, July 6th 2017

With an official communication, the European confederation of Volley has adjusted the dates of the Continental Cups’ finals, allowing Lega Pallavolo Serie A to prepare the new season’s planning according to which the Finals Four of Champions League, of CEV and  Challenge, don’t affect the Championship and particularly the play offs.
This is a succes reached through the Lega’s policy thanks to President Paola De Micheli and the Honorary President   Diego Mosna, including the Federation. The President of CEV Aleksandar Boricic has acknowledged the importance of letting the National Championships to create a planning  that allows to have space  and, as requested by Lega, to shift from May 12th to 13th its most important final. This also allows to set free several weekends by shifting the semifinals and finals of CEV and Challenge Cup during the week. This review, requested by the Clubs, cancels therefore the draft of the European planning that forecasted the finals between the end of April and the beginning of May, forcing an anticipated ending of the season.
With Semptember monopolised by the International events (European Cups, Grand Champions Cup and Continentals Norceca Championships), the first day of SuperLega UnipolSai Championship is scheduled on October 15th, after Del Monte® Supercoppa, while Match 5 of finals Play Off will be played on May 6th.
CEV has also planned the Final Four of Champions League for the next two seasons, placing them at mid May. Also in this case we praise CEV which has made a step further scheduling and allowing  Lega Pallavolo Serie A and the several European Championships to plan timely their seasons.
The President of Lega, Paola De Micheli is really satisfied: “We thank CEV that worked with FIVB to find a solution that has praised the activity of the Italian sportive policy. On July 20th in Bologna we will be able to present a calendar that celebrates  our efforts and those of the Clubs”.
