The first seasonal away match in SuperLega, played on Sunday evening in Padova, gave Diatec Trentino much more than the three points gained for their ranking position. With the 3-1 obtained at Kioene Arena arrived in fact the 300th victory in regular season (out of 432 played matches) and the confirm of how Angelo Lorenzetti’s team is constantly growing. This is an impression that might be further reinforced already on Wednesday evening in Ravenna in the away match of the third day of SuperLega.
“We’re looking forward to manage to be more concrete in all the fundamentals but still we treasure this victory, that gives us moral support and a great confidence boost – explained today the libero Daniele De Pandis - ; In the first part of the match we showed all our skills, played on high levels of efficiency in the side-out phase. In the second part we instead suffered a lot more, also because we had to face a fearless Kioene Padova that grew a lot at service. After losing badly the third set, also the fourth one was getting bad; in that circumstance we did good at not giving up and staying focused with the direct result of being able to obtain three important points”.
“Everyone is getting to know each other better and better, match after match we’re discovering the technical skills and the personality of each other and it is pretty normal not to be able to play a great volleyball in this first period – continued the libero from Puglia - . We’re working a lot with Lorenzetti on the approach to the match; in the first official matches our approach affected us a lot, but starting already from the match of Coppa Italia versus Monza something has changed and helped us in our goals. We will have to try to do the same also on Wednesday evening in Ravenna, a match that from many points of view presents the same pitfalls of the one played in Padova. I think that our destiny in these circumstance could be decided thanks to the quality at service, a fundamental in which we have lots of resources but in which we had great troubles in the away matches”.
Diatec Trentino started training again already in the afternoon at PalaTrento, with a training session divided between weights (for the ones who played more on Sunday) and technique (for all the others). The departure Ravenna is scheduled already for Tuesday afternoon after the last tactical training session in the morning, which will allow the staff to assess again the condition of Uros Kovacevic (who was on the bench in Padova).
