Diatec Trentino closes in the best way a 2015 to remember, capturing the PalaPoli of Molfetta in the first leg of the quarterfinals of Del Monte® Cup Italy 2016. In the last meeting before the Christmas break, the Italian champions have in fact imposed in Puglia 3-0 against Exprivia, making only a first but very important step towards the possible qualification to the Final Four of the event - which will effectively come if the Yellow-blues will succeed in the return match on January 14th, winning at least 2 sets.
The lesson received a month ago on the same field during the seventh day of Super League, was obviously well assimilated by Lanza and his teammates, who in addition to the excellent result, tonight have also found the game; only through a convincing performance, however, you could think of violating the field of Molfetta and archive the first breathless part of the season. By collecting the remained energy (mental and physical), Diatec Trentino has instead demonstrated all its potentials, by playing a precise match in most of the fundamentals (only two mistakes at the net and just nine wrong services) and by unleashing amazing service and breakpoint phase. The service, which scored a total of twelve times, has made a difference in the most uncertain moment of the contest thanks to a Lanza (4 aces), Urnaut (2, MVP at the end, thanks to the 60% at the net) and Daniele Mazzone (2) very inspired. In the other stages of the match Djuric was impressive (21 points with 57% in attack, and 3 blocks), lethal in every situation of break point. Important for the achieved result were also the three blocks of Solé (recently served in attack) and the usual entrance of Bratoev, still good to dive quickly into the match heading the team well in directing from the middle of the second set onwards instead of Giannelli.
