Trento, March 4th, 2015
After a month and a half of recess, the ENERGY TI Diatec Trentino is ready for a international match. Tomorrow night, Tuesday, March 5th, will be the first leg of the Challenge Round of 2015 CEV Cup. After eliminating Novi Sad (Tel Aviv) in the sixteenths, with the second round with Craiova, in the quarter. The Yellow-Blues will face the Belgians of Roeselare in the fourth double round of races of the European competition. The first match is played in PalaTrento, with kick-off at 8:30pm; Streamed Live on Radio Dolomiti.
ENERGY TI Diatec Trentino, entered its most important and difficult period in the European tournament; after not having encountered any particular problems in overcoming the three previous rounds, the Trentino Volley is trying to find a way against the Belgian champions of Roeselare, since they have shown strong numbers in the Champions League.
In order to gain a better chance for qualifying in the semi-final, team Radostin Stoytchev, must absolutely take advantage of the ‘home’ court and win with positive results. On one hand looking at the calendar (will not affect other commitments, taking in account, observing the match on Sunday in Super League UnipolSai), the other issue, is dealing with Lanzas' left hand injury (microfracture of the second phalanx of his fifth finger) which might prevent him from playing in the match.
"We face a difficult match and can’t afford any margin of error - explained the Bulgarian coach - we can not fail if we want to play in the next round in seven days in Belgium. We will have to prepare well for every move we make , against an opponent who will surely be motivated and aroused by his excellent performance in this championship".
Birarelli and his comrades seek this victory to eliminate the defeat that they suffered on Sunday in Civitanova Marche, which has cost them the lead in this championship. Stoytchev, will decide after the afternoon workout, if he will include CEV Lanza, or Thei, in the list of twelve players on the scoresheet .
STATS OF THE EUROPEAN TRENTINO VOLLEY tomorrow night will be the 77th game, for Trentino Volley, in the European Cups (so far they have played in 62 Champions League, three in Top Teams and 11 in CEV). with results of 62 wins and 14 defeats, with the last game settled at PalaTrento against Belgorod on February 13th, 2014 (6 Playoffs Champions.) Formerly they participated in the CEV Cup (2005 edition), with Yellow-Blues adventures ceasing in the second round after a double 3-1 defeat by Halkbank Ankara. The PalaTrento will host the 35th international competition in its history, having seen so far 29 wins and 5 losses.
