 Trento, 11th January 2017

For the eighth time in a raw (tenth overall) Diatec Trentino will be one of the protagonists in the Final Four of Coppa Italia. Thanks to tonight’s victory against Monza in the single-match of quarter-finals played at PalaTrento, the yellow-blue team confirmed its presence at the weekend by the end of January, in which we will discover who the winner of edition n. 39 of the national trophy at Unipol Arena in Bologna will be; on the occasion of the semi-finals there will be room for another challenge with Modena, a remake of the match that established the winner in the last two editions of this competition. Confirming once again the home court advantage and what the prevision have forecasted, the team trained by Angelo Lorenzetti won against Gi Group in three (very fast) sets; a deserved victory that was not taken for granted as before this match Monza had been the only team that had been able to conquer one point in an almost perfect home match of the yellow-blue team. Unlike the match that Diatec Trentino won 3-2 last November 27th, this time the team from Trento was able to put its opponents under pressure thanks to efficient blocks (11 successful blocks in total) and to the attack excellently directed by Gianelli who did his best with services too: he played 11 services in a raw  (from 12-8 to 22-9) and closed in advance the match by the third set with a standing ovation of the audience. During the match, there was room for Van de Voorde (5 blocks, 4 during the second set) and for Diatec Trentino that collected positive percentages from all its players in the block phase: Solè 78%, Lanza 67%, Stokr 69%, Urnaut 43% and the Belgian player himself 40%.
