Urnaut spikes against the Piacenza block

Ph. Cavalli

Piacenza, 7th  September 2016

While waiting for the official debut of the 2016/17 season (on Saturday 24th September in Modena at the semi-final of the Italian Super Cup), Diatec Trentino achieves a prestigious victory that is particularly positive in the first test match of preparation. Tonight the team of Angelo Lorenzetti has defeated the hosting team of LPR 3-1.  Regardless of the final score, Diatec Trentino has shown interesting potential and technical skills for the immediate future. Lanza and Solè were at rest in order to continue the differentiated training they’re doing in this period and Stokr (best scorer of Trentino Volley with 16 points and 48% of attacks and blocks) and Daniele Mazzone (82% in quick hits and 3 blocks) were inspired by Giannelli who was in good condition after the Olympic Games (10 points with 5 blocks and 3 aces). In the outstanding performance of the whole team, we have to point out the efficient cooperation between block and defence that discouraged the hosting team after a good beginning of match.

Here is the table of the unofficial friendly match played this evening at  PalaBanca of Piacenza.
