Trento, February 22nd 2017
Diatec Trentino concludes its internal path in regular season of SuperLega Unipolsai 2016/17 keeping PalaTrento untouched. The yellow-blue team has obtained this evening versus Molfetta its 13th victory in as many matches played in regular season (the 16th overall taking into account of other three cup victories), equalling a clear round in regular season already recorded three times previously in its history (2003/04, 2009/10, 2014/15).
Beyond the statistical aspect, keeping PalaTrento untouched also versus the team from Puglia (which with this defeat had to say goodbye to the remaining hopes of qualifying for the playoffs) made it possible to move another small but important step towards the possible second place in ranking. To actually achieve it, Diatec Trentino will need to win at most in four sets the match versus Monza on Sunday evening in the last day of regular season.
Conscious of not being able to give almost nothing to the opponents not to see itself circumvented by Perugia for set quotient, Lorenzetti's team went into the field with the right look obtaining a 3-0. The match was without any story in the first two sets but became much more fought in the third set, decided in a sprint by an ace of Nelli.
The service itself has been the key weapon used by Diatec Trentino to defeat the opponents in 1 hours and 13 minutes; the best in service phase has been Solé, who almost only for this reason (3 aces) has been awarded with the mvp prize. Together with him also Urnaut has proved to be very effective (2 aces), who with Lanza and Stokr formed an high-ball trio with excellent high percentage of attacks.
Here is the table of the match of the twenty-sixth day of regular season SuperLega UnipolSai 2016/17, played tonight at PalaTrento.
