SuperLega UnipolSai will be in the game this weekend for the sixteenth round of the 2014/15 regular season. The leader, ENERGY T.I. Diatec Trentino, will be in the spot light in Apulia for the most remote away game of its regular season: sure enough, Sunday, January 25, the yellow-blues will face Exprivia Neldiritto Molfetto in their own home court. The game is expected to start at PalaPoli at 17.00, live on tv on RAI Sport 1, and with the running commentary on RadioDolomiti.
After confirming themselves as No. 1 in the rankings, thanks also to the three points earned last Sunday in the match against Perugia, and after qualifying last Thursday evening for the Challenge Round of the 2015 CEV Cup, beating 3-1 Craiova at PalaTrento, Trentino Volley is now seeking yet another important result to close as best as possible this January tour de force that will have seen them play regularly at least three times a week, counting also Sunday’s match. However, as explained by the coach Radostin Stoytchev during the presentation of the game, the regular season’s event that is, in terms of kilometres, the farthest away, presents different dangers to the yellow-blues.
“Right now, Molfetta is a team in good shape, that plays well at home, and in the last period has strengthened further: the match that awaits us, on their court, is surely difficult, and at the same time important,” he declared. “We will arrive at the game with only two technical training sessions in our legs; it is definitely not enough to ready us for the match, but it was the best we could do at the moment: we will get our teeth into the game and suffer, well aware that starting from next week we will have more time at hand to work at the gym”.
The team will head out for Apulia today, in the early hours of the afternoon, after a full training session at PalaTrento, held in the morning, and will be back at home already Sunday night. Trentino Volley will arrive at PalaPoli after a ten-days’ positive streak in regular season (the last defeat dates back to November 1, in Verona), and will play the official game No. 587 of her history (with 406 victories against 180 defeats), looking for her away victory No. 200 on 319 games played away from PalaTrento.
PREVIOUS EVENTS Sunday, in Apulia, the two clubs will play overall their fourth game, having started to face each other only since the 2013/14 regular season. The books are in favour of Trentino Volley, who always imposed itself by 3-0, including the home game held on October 29 at PalaTrento (25-18, 25-19, 25-19 and Lanza mvp). The only other game played in Apulia, instead, dates back to exactly a year ago (January 26, 2014), and was won by the yellow-blues 25-19, 25-17, 25-23.
THE REFEREES The game will be directed by Fabrizio Saltalippi (from Perugia, in Serie A since 1995, and international since 2000), and Dominga Lot (from Santa Lucia di Piave – Venice, in the top category since 2010). It is the first time the two referees work together this season in SuperLega UnipolSai 2014/15, the tenth date for Saltalippi (who previously directed the yellow-blues on November 30, 2014, in the match Trento-Ravenna 3-2), and the third date for Lot, who has never directed Trentino Volley before.
TV, RADIO AND INTERNET Molfetta-Trento will be a global media event. It will be broadcasted live on RAI Sport 1, present both on DTT and on Sky TV, channel 228, with the commentary in the care of Maurizio Colantoni and Andrea Lucchetta; the match will also be available in video and audio streaming on the web, at www.raisport.rai.it/dl/raisport/multimedia/diretta.html, and will count upon an intercontinental exposure (52 nations connected) thanks to the programmed live broadcastings by Sportsklub, Canal+ Deportes, Sports Tv, Bein Sport Arabia, Bein Sport Usa, Bein Sport France, Bandsport, Sky Mexico, Btv, Sport 5, Sport Tv Portugal, Dolce Sport, Perform e Voyo.bg.
