The team will play on Sunday evening the 10th turn match of SuperLega UnipolSai 2017/18 regular season. Diatec Trentino will take part in the main big match of Sunday 3rd December for the “A22 Derby” versus Azimut Modena. The match will start at 6.00 p.m. live on Radio Dolomiti and live streaming on Lega Volley Channel on the web site: www.elevensports.it/superlega.
HERE DIATEC TRENTINO The two victories gained during the match against Latina and Piacenza over the last five days, brought the yellow-blue team back in the Play Off rankings and they also provide a general happiness inside the group that helped to prepare one of the most important matches in the entire season for Angelo Lorenzetti’s team.
“After a difficult period at the beginning of the season now we have taken the right way even if there’s still much work to be done and we need to improve ourselves especially during the last part of the sets – explained the coach of Diatec Trentino -. The A22 Derby will test us but at the same time it will represent a beautiful and significant moment for every single player. I don’t know how we will cope with the emotions because they are part of our individual perception of the reality, but we are looking forward to dealing with our commitment with confidence and willingness to seek answers because we think we deserve more than what we have now. We will need team spirit and willpower; with Perugia and Civitanova which are some of the most quoted teams of the league, we played quite well but it wasn’t enough to win; we will try to do it against Modena playing with more effectiveness at service and with a more creative attack.”
All the players will be available indeed all the thirteen yellow-blue players have trained regularly during the whole week and so, even in this case, Lorenzetti will be totally free to choose the starting six.
On this occasion Trentino Volley will play the 728th match of its history (504 victories and 223 defeats), the 333rd at Palatrento and it will try to gain the 20th win at Palatrento of the 2017/18 season.
THERE WILL BE FOURTEEN FORMERS Another interesting point of this match is that there will be fourteen formers including players, coaching staff and directors. We are waiting for the meeting with the coach of Azimut, Radostin Stoytchev who will come back as a rival at Palatrento during an official match against the Club in which he worked for eight seasons. It will be the first time even for Dario Simoni, Tine Urnaut, Daniele Mazzone, Ivan Contrario, Francesco Petrella and Roberto Ciamarra.
The trainer Angelo Lorenzetti, his assistant Dante Boninfante, Uros Kovecevic,, the athletic director Alessandro Guazzaloca and, in the managerial sectors, also the Directors General Bruno Da Re e Andrea Sartoretti belongs to the formers’ list.
THE OPPONENTS the three points gained eight days ago in Vibo Valienta and then the defeat of Perugia in Civitanova Marche gave the possibility to Azimut Modena to get closer to the first place in the league table. The Emilian team has so far met the expectations losing only 4 points (three obtained by Lube and one against Milano). Far the PalaPanini the team won four matches (in Frosinone and Calabria for 3-0, in Latina and Verona for 3-1)that permitted them to follow the league leaders. The eight out of nine successes achieved thanks to Bruno which finds in Ngapeth, Sabbi and Holt the main strikers. During the last matches the Dutch Van Garderen stood out also because of Urnaut’s physical problems, whereas Bossi and Daniele Mazzone took turns as middle-blocker.
THE PREVIOUS Modena is the team Trentino Volley played against the most during its 17 years and a half of activity; on Sunday evening there will be the 68th match and Trentino Volley won 38 matches compared to the 29 of Modena. From the 21st December 2014 to now, the two teams met each other 20 times, and each team won 10 matches. During this year they has already met each other twice: 8th October in Civitanova Marche for the Supercoppa’s final for the third and fourth place, won by Modena 1-3. In Regular Season the most recent success belongs to Diatec Trentino that the 19th February 2017 won at the PalaTrento in the return match of the eleventh day. In the last thirty matches at the PalaTrento, Modena won only eight times, the last one the 25th April 2016 (1-3) in match 4 of the Scudetto’s semifinal.
THE REFEREES Fabrizio Pasquali (from Ascoli Piceno, tenured referee from 1997 and international referee from 2001) and Simone Santi (from Perugia, in Serie A from 1994 and international Fivb referee from 2011) who are the best referees’ couple of the national scene will referee the match. Pasquali referees Diatec Trentino again after game three of Finale Scudetto 2017 in which the team lost 1-3 in Civitanova Marche the 7th of May, whereas Santi, on his sixth directed match in SuperLega 2017/18, refereed Trento in final’s game two against Lube at the PalaTrento the 4th of May (2-3).
RADIO, INTERNET AND TV The whole match will be broadcast live by Radio Dolomiti, partner network of Trentino Volley, commented by Stefano Piffer and Andrea Cobbe. Links with the PalaTrento will be performed at "Sports Champions", the sports container of the Missioni Africane broadcast. On the TV, the full match will be broadcasted on Monday, December 4 at 21.50 on RTTR, the TV partner of the Società of via Trener, shortly after the "RTTR Volley" magazine and again at midnight on the same day.
