Trento, 7th February 2015

The eighteenth round of regular season SuperLega UnipolSai: ENERGY T.I. Diatec Trentino will be playing an away game Vs the host team Revivre Milano at Mediolanum Forum in Assago on Sunday 8th February. The starting whistle is scheduled to be blown at 6 pm with live broadcasting on Radio Dolomiti and live streaming on Lega Volley Channel at www.sportube.tv.
After getting back into the championship thanks to the decisive victory in the derby of Adige against Verona one week ago, the team from Trento will set off for Lombardia in quest of another result that will place them again at the top of the rankings. A potential victory with three points in a home game for the tail-end Milano will let Trentino Volley to rank highest and lead the highest position in the rankings alone, thanks to the simultaneous rest day that Modena (now at +2) will have to respect over the weekend.
ENERGY T.I. Diatec Trentino will get to the match after five training days in which almost all the team players were present (only Giannelli worked out alone for a shoulder problem in the first period) and in which Radostin Stoytchev profited from the weekend leaving to improve the quality of the game. “Looking at the rankings now could be misleading especially for our concentration – explains the Bulgarian coach - . We will therefore compete for the match without thinking that we are playing on the court of the worst team but with the only goal of winning and bringing home the highest number of points. In this week we have worked hard to improve some aspects of our game and I expect to receive important results also from this point of view. We must use the month of February with less commitments to improve our standards and automatic processing".
The blue and yellow team will leave for Assago soon after the afternoon training today and tomorrow morning, between 9.30 and 11 they will have their final training session in the facility that can host up to 12.000 people. In Lombardia, Trentino Volley will compete for their 589th official match in their history (407 victories, 181 defeats in total) and will seek their 200th away victory in 320 away matches. It is going to be a special day for Emanuele Birarelli that will turn 34 on that day and will compete for his 322nd match with the blue and yellow t-shirt (his 69th as captain).
WE ARE PLAYING AT FORUM IN ASSAGO, WHERE TRENTINO VOLLEY WON THEIR LAST COPPA ITALIA IN 2012 As revealed in advance the match will be played at Mediolanum Forum in Assago due to a deliberate choice by Revivre that, for the occasion, has decided to rent the main multipurpose facility in Northern Italy in order to fulfill the many requests of the volleyball enthusiasts from Lombardia. As already happened with the home match against Modena, Power Volley will migrate from PalaDesio to Forum, a facility that reminds Trentino Volley of good memories (on their last match in Assago they brought home the Coppa Italia – 30th December 2012, 3-0 against Macerata) and worse memories (the 2-3 defeat against Macerata in the V-Day on 22nd April 2012). In total, the Club from via Trener  have competed  for a total of four matches at Mediolanum, also considering Cuneo-Trento 3-0 (2nd February 2002, semi-final of Coppa Italia) and Trento-Vibo Valentia 3-0 (29th December 2012 –semi-final of Coppa Italia 2013).
PREVIOUS EVENTS On Sunday evening we will write only the second page of the match between Trentino Volley and Power Volley Milano (a Club born last year and that compete for the first time in this season in the biggest Italian championship). Between the two Clubs, the previously official one is therefore the one played in the first half of the season on 9th November 2014 at PalaTrento, with the victory of the blue and yellow team for 3-0 (25-14, 25-18, 25-18 Nemec mvp and best scorer together with Lanza). In their 14 championship seasons in Serie A1, Trentino Volley had already played against two other clubs from Milan : Asystel, on six occasions between 2000 and 2003 and Sparkling, on two occasions between 2007 and 2008. The final result was negative for the blue and yellow team: four victories (among which only one away victory – 22nd October 2007, 3-2 against Sparkling) against the five for the clubs from Milan.
THE REFEREES The match will be presided over by Diego Pol (from Tarzo – Treviso, who has been in Serie A since 2000 and internationally since 2013) and Gianluca Cappello (from Sortino – Siracusa, in the highest category since 2004). This is the first seasonal match together for the two referees in SuperLega UnipolSai 2014/15, the eighth personal match for Pol (the last one with the blue and yeallow team in Monza-Trento 0-3 on 26th December 2014), the sixth for Cappello, whose only crossroad with Trentino Volley dates as far back as 26th February 2012 (3-0 victory to Ravenna).
RADIO, INTERNET AND TV RadioDolomiti, radio partner of Trentino Volley, will recount the match live, and in its entirety, starting from 17.55. The connections with Mediolanum Forum will be made within the show “Campioni di Sport”: the radio frequencies to follow the regional network can be found on the home page www.trentinovolley.it, whereas the live radio commentary in streaming can be followed on www.radiodolomiti.com.
The pre-recorded broadcast of the match will be transmitted on Monday, February 9th at 21.15 on the regional television channel RTTR, Tv partner of via Trener’s club, immediately after the magazine “RTTR Volley”, and again at midnight on the same date.
Finally, on internet, the minute by minute update will be care of the Lega Pallavolo Serie A (www.legavolley.it), by www.trentinovolley.it itself, and it will always be active also on the yellow-blue Social Networks (www.trentinovolley.it/facebook and www.trentinovolley.it/twitter).
