Two weeks after match 2, played on Saturday March 25th at PalaEvangelisti in Perugia, Diatec Trentino is ready to get back on the field for the series of semi-finals play-offs Scudetto UnipolSai 2017: the fundamental third challenge is scheduled for Sunday April 9th at PalaTrento at 6 p.m. The yellow-blue team will register its fourth seasonal sold-out; in fact, there will be more than 4000 people ready to watch live the match that will grant the winner two chances to win the series: the first in Match 4 on Wednesday April 19th in the region of Umbria, the possible second one on Saturday April 22nd again in Trento. Besides the large number of supporters (that are encouraged by Curva Gislimbarti to wear a yellow t-shirt), the team trained by Lorenzetti can count on an almost perfect program carried out until this moment in home games. PalaTrento have dealt with no defeats for almost an year (last home defeat dates back to 25th April 2016 – match 4 of semi-finals against Modena), a period in which the yellow-blue players collected twenty victories in a row; two of them against Perugia, defeated by 3-1 both in the match of regular season on October 29th and in Match 1 of the series on March 19th.
Another proof of this are the statistics related to Match 3 of semi-finals play-offs; only on one occasion, out of six previous third challenges played during this phase of the program, Trentino Volley has registered a defeat: on 25th April 2010, as Lube won the match in three sets at PalaTrento. On all other occasions, only victories for Trento in Match 3 of semi-finals: 3-1 against Treviso in play-offs 2006, 3-1 against Cuneo in 2009, 3-0 against Modena in 2010, 3-2 against Perugia in 2015 and 3-1 against Modena in 2016.
The match on Sunday will be the 49th match of the season for Trentino Volley (with a total of 37 victories and 11 defeats), the 708th one ever, the 98th one of play-offs Scudetto, in which has won 61 matches. 39 of them (out of 51 played matches) at PalaTrento.
