Thanks to the home victory of tonight in match 5 of semi-final, Trentino Volley got the qualification to the Final Scudetto once again, after two years of absence (last precedent on 13th May 2015). The final that will begin on Tuesday April 25th will be the eighth participation in the last phase of the Italian championship during the seventeen years of history of the Club of via Trener. This goal was already achieved in the season 2007/08, when Trento won the semi-final against Rome 2-0 and got the cup winning the final against Piacenza in three matches (2-1), in the season 2008/09, when the team of Stoytchev got access to the final thanks to the victory in three matches (3-0) against Cuneo in the semi-final but then losing in the fifth match of final (2-3) against Copra Nordmeccanica Piacenza, in 2009/10 when after winning against Macerata in four matches Itas Diatec Trentino lost against Cuneo in the first edition of V-Day (on May 9th 2010, Bologna), in 2010/11, when after winning against Modena (3-2), this time it was able to win against the team from Piemonte in the V-Day played in Rome on 15th May 2011 (3-0), in 2011/12 when it won against Latina (2-0) without losing any set and then it was defeated by Macerata in the V-Day on April 22nd at Forum of Assago, in the season 2012/13, when it won against Cuneo and was able to win the third championship cup after defeating Piacenza in five matches (3-2) and in the season 2014/15, when it won against Modena in four matches (3-1).
This is the thirty-first final of all time for the Club of via Trener, the twenty-first in Italy including the six finals of the Italian Supercoppa (in 2008, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013 and 2015) and the seven of Coppa Italia (2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2015, 2016, 2017).
The yellow-blue team has won sixteen out of thirty-one final matches: four scudetto’s finals, three Champions League’s finals, four Club World Championship’s finals, two Italian Supercoppa’s finals and three finals of Coppa Italia: on January 31st 2010.
