Trento, May 12th, 2015
Wednesday, May 12th, in Modena commences the forthmatch of the SuperLega Play Off Finale Championship UnipolSai 2015. After the victory for 3-0 on Sunday in Game 3 at PalaTrento, this time Parmareggio will play in front of their home crowd, hosting Diatec Trentino for match 4. Starting time scheduled at 8.30 pm, broadcast live on RAI Sport 1 and Radio Dolomiti.
Thanks to a great success in Game 3, Birarelli and teammates regained the lead and will face the last seasonal transfer trying to make the best of it and celebrating away from home the fourth championship (this happened only once - in Rome, on May 15th, 2011).
The 3-0 of Sunday has guaranteed two opportunities to get back to the national title; Radostin Stoytchev reasons, as always, only for the next game and doesn't delude himself. "We haven’t won anything yet, indeed: now we must expect the most difficult part of our Final because the challenge ahead us, it’s really one to be in or out” - explains the Bulgarian technic, who tomorrow evening will lead Trentino Volley for the 341 ^ time -. “Modena is a great team and has fully demonstrated it during the first three matches of the series. Tomorrow it will try to make the most of home advantage, both as regards the technical aspects and regards the environmental side that will be obviously in their favor”.
The formation form Trento will depart in full force, already today in the late afternoon to Piacenza after the last training session at PalaTrento. Tomorrow morning at PalaPanini the classic finishing pregame. Game 4 will be the 48th game of the season for Trentino Volley; the twenty-fourth match away, which so far has collected seventeen wins and six defeats (the last just a week ago). For the Company of Via Trener will be the eighty-fourth match of its history in playoffs championship (balance of 53 hits and 30 defeats), the twentieth of all time in the final, where it has 11 wins and eight knockouts.
A VICTORY AND A DEFEAT IN PREVIOUS FINAL GAMES 4 If Game 2 Final has remained a taboo still to debunk (four games and four defeats), the memory of Game 4 for Trentino Volley draws equally pleasant and negative memories. Before the one of tomorrow, the Company of via Trener has indeed previously played only two more, always at Palabanca, finding one victory and one defeat: exactly six years ago, on May 13th, 2009, the Yellow-blues imposed themselves for 3-0 (25-23, 25-11, 26-24) postponing the championship by one year in Game 5 at PalaTrento, which then rewarded the Copra Nordmeccanica; on May 5th, 2013 Piacenza instead prevailed for 3-0 (22-25, 19-25, 20-25) bringing back the challenge to Trento, which won 3-2 on its third national title in the playoff challenge.
PREVIOUSLY Tomorrow's game will be the 54th official confrontation between Trento and Modena; the stats look favourable to the Trentino Volley for 32-21, which won four of the previous six seasonsal. The only two successes of Parmareggio during the 2014/15 sports year however, are two matches played in Emilia and always ended for 3-1: on January 11th, 2015, in the Italian Cup final at PalaDozza of Bologna and a week ago, on May 6th, 2015 in Game 2 of the Final at PalaPanini. In the historical facility, the Diatec Trentino played a total of 26 competitive matches, leaving as a winner in eleven circumstances (three of them in the playoffs). The last statement of Birarelli and teammates in Parmareggio’s home refers on March 21th: 1-3 (24-26, 18-25, 24-26, 25-17) and Kaziyski MVP (18 points with 62%, an ace and two blocks).
SERIES Diatec Trentino ahead for 2-1 in the final series final that is played to the best of five games, under accrued at 3-2 PalaTrento on May 3th, with partial 23-25, 17-25, 29 -27, 28-26, 15-12, 1-3 obtained from Modena last Sunday at PalaPanini (19-25, 25-23, 25-21, 26-24) and of the 3-0 won by the Yellow-blues on May 10th in PalaTrento (25-23, 25-23, 25-22). Tomorrow evening Game 4 at PalaPanini will close the speech only if it is the formation of Stoytchev to dominate. In case of the victory of Parmareggio, the championship will be assigned in Game 5, which will be played, if there is a need, in Trentino on Sunday, on May 17th at 6.15 pm. Who gets three successes will become Champion of Italy 2014/15.
REFEREES The match will be arbitrated by Simone Santi (first referee of Città di Castello - Perugia in Series A since 1994 and international FIVB from 2011) and Fabrizio Saltalippi (from Perugia in Series A since 1995 and internationally since 2000). The two referees are on their fourth joint leadership UnipolSai Super League in 2014/15, the third in the playoffs (where they had already directed Molfetta-Trent 2-3 and Modena-Latina 3-2), the eighteenth absolute for both. Santi in the regular season crossed Trento in the occasion of the success in Latina (3-2, on November 23th) and Piacenza (3-0, on April 4th) while Saltalippi directed Trento-Treia 3 -2 (on November 30th), Molfetta-Trento 3-2 (on January 25th) and curiously also the only previous seasonal winning in Modena (3-1, on March 21th).
