The defeat on Sunday night confirmed the tie break in Civitanova Marche, during the big match of the twenty-first round of Super League UnipolSai, which allowed the ENERGY TI Diatec Trentino to move once again a step towards the standings, despite being ousted from the top spot at the hands of Modena, and securing, at least, second place even after their break next weekend. With two sets won at ‘away’ games against team Lube, team Stoytchev has thus confirmed its rise in league performance, scoring points for the nineteenth time in twenty games played; the only defeat encountred was during the match in Verona with a 0-3 score, which took place on November 1st, 2014, and was the fourth round of the regular season. Kaziyski and his teammates were not able to do much during that time.
Beyond the aspects linked to the ranking, the match on Sunday has confirmed the competitiveness of the Yellowo-Blues, and in particular that of Simone Giannelli and Gabriele Nelli. The young diagonal-opposite setter, has only played in the last season with Serie B1 for the youth team of Trentino Volley, and once again offering Stoytchev, an important alternative to Zygadlo-Nemec. With his serves, Lucca was able to control the fourth set, but left with a few regrets just as Nelli, explained to Radio Dolomiti, after the match. "We feel bad, since we had a limited comeback (from 17-21 to 22-22) but we lacked the final touch to bring home the match. We should not forget, however, the strenght of our opponent; Lube was determined, at all costs, to bring the game to tie break, and succeeded in that situation. Obviously, we didnt like the defeat but our goals are more important than a single victory, and I think with more practice in the gym and some hard work, we can aspire to go really far. Matches like the one of Civitanova Marche, become a learning experiance that offer us additional adrenaline for the final sprint of the season, in which we can really play against anyone".
We struggled to find the right opportunity in specific areas - continued the young player of ENERGY TI Diatec Trentino - however, the important thing was to know that even in a technical tactic, we are able to endure to the last minute. To play in an important match, facing a large public, was exciting for me it : eased the tension. These situations are not for players of my age to try, and that's why I struck all the balls without fear. It was a useful experience for my future".
The Yellow-Blues will return to training at PalaTrento, on Tuesday morning to begin preparing the first leg for the Challenge Round of 2015 CEV Cup against the Belgians of Roeselare, which is scheduled for Thursday March 5th in PalaTrento at 8:30pm. This game is not included in the season tickets. Advance ticket are available everyday at Trentino Volley ticket Point (hours are from 8am-12noon, then at 2pm-6pm).
