Trento, 2nd April 2017

Trentino Diatec has arrived from Turkey today in the late afternoon. After qualifying for the second final of its season, the yellow-blue players have returned home on a direct flight that took them from Istanbul to Bergamo and then on a coach that transported them to Trento. The technical staff granted the players one day and a half off; trainings for Match 3 of semi-final Play Off Scudetto UnipolSai 2017 against Perugia will start again on Tuesday morning. “We were determined to qualify for the final of this tournament because Trentino Volley has always considered really important international results – explained the opposite-hitter Jan Stokr, who played a fundamental role in the match on Saturday night against Fenerbahce with his 21 points -. We were and we are very motivated because the match against Tours will be an important moment in history and we don’t want to fail. I have even more incentives: CEV Cup is the only tournament I haven’t won yet and I would like to complete my European palmares, as I’ve won Champions League wearing the yellow-blue colours and Challenge Cup with Perugia. In the match against the French team I’ll meet a friend, David Konecny, who is Czech and opposite-hitter like me. It will be a pleasure to meet him but on the field my goal is to win, even if my opponents are friends”.
The match on Saturday night was determined by the different efficiency in the service we showed in each set – continued Stokr -; in the first one we were not playing at our best for what concerns this fundamentals whereas our opponents have been really efficient. The second set has been decisive, we have been able to be aggressive from the beginning; after winning it we have been more relaxed and have had more confidence in our own means. The match has been a difficult challenge till the end, but in the fourth set thanks to a lucky moment for our service we have been able to close the set and qualify for the final. I’m happy. From Tuesday we will start again to train for the third match against Perugia; we’re lucky as we have a whole week to recover from the match in Turkey and train, trying to correct the flaws we showed in the last two games. The program for this period of the season is extremely particular; for seven days we will concentrate on Sir Safety Conad, than we will train for the match against Tours before focusing our attention again on Perugia. This is an exceptional situation but at the same time it’s interesting: all matches are decisive”.
