“We knew that the match 1 would have been hard, but maybe we didn’t think we have such a gap. We’re sorry we couldn’t live up to the situation, the real Diatec Trentino isn’t this one. We have to learn from this experience, in order to play with a different mood in the match 2. We have the physical, technical and mind abilities and we can play way much better. Although Lube play such a great volleyball, we have to do more and put more efforts”. Simone Giannelli analyzes with lucidity and frankness the defeat in Civitanova in the first match of Championship PlayOff Fianl. The 3-0 at Eurosole Forum let Cucine Lube to earn the advantage in the series of five matches, but nothing has been decided. “On Thursday May 4th we will have the opportunity at PalaTrento to prove that we aren’t the same team seen Tuesday evening in Marche –the setter from Bolzano added - , but we mustn’t think that playing at home will be enough to change the power balance seen in Civitanova. Our audience and establishment surely boost us but Lube is a team very efficient also in away matches, as it has shown recently at PalaPanini of Modena. Players as Juantorena, Sokolov, Grebennikov and Christenson can count on their experienced to face whatever situation. In order to win the second match and be on a level playing field we will have to be almost perfect and have another attitude. Having eight days to prepare for the match, training in the gym and studying the best play actions could be very useful. I think that Diatec Trentino can show its strength and we will try to show during match 2”.
After coming back between Tuesday and Wednesday evening in Trento, the team will rest Thursday morning and in the afternoon will train in the weight room by the athletic director Atletico Luca Baratto. The program of the second part of the week foresees a technique and tactical session on Friday evening and a double session on Saturday. On Sunday the team will be able to rest. In the same weekend Cucine Lube Civitanova will play at PalaLottomatica of Roma the Final Four of 2017 CEV Champions League.
