The first interview as player of Trentino Volley for the new hitter Nicholas Hoag.

Welcome Nicholas, why did you choose Trento?
“I know the recent history of Trentino Volley very well and I followed its last great season as an opponent; it is a team of high level with a well-prepared staff, first of all the trainer Angelo Lorenzetti. For me it is an honour to play with this team; I’m convinced that training every day in such a competitive group I will be able to improve. I'm really glad to be part of this great Club, Trentino Volley”.
What kind of player are you?
“I would say a “smart player”, that is a player who isn’t really physical and takes advantage of other skills such as technique, speed, astuteness. I worked and will work every day in order to improve all fundamentals to be as complete as possible. I like everyone, I love attacking, serving, defending and receiving”.
Who is Nicholas Hoag outside the volleyball court?
“Volleyball has been my passion and my life since I was a little boy. Also thanks to my father (Glenn Hoag, world-class trainer, edit) I grew in the gym, this is a fundamental part of me. When I don’t play volleyball I like reading, going out with my friends and traveling. I’m really lucky because thanks to the volleyball I could see many countries that otherwise I wouldn’t probably have seen”.
Did your father Glenn suggest coming to  Trentino Volley?
“Of course, when he knew that there was a possibility of coming to Trento he immediately told me to accept because it was a good solution in all aspect. He is happy for me, because he has always appreciated the professional and organizational value of this Club”.
In Trento there was another Canadian player, the middle-blocker Steve Brinkman…
“I know him very well, we played in the national team together and in that period he enthusiastically talked me about his experience in Trento. I haven’t spoken with him lattely, but his words for this Club were really positive”.
Have you already spoken with Lorenzetti?
“Yes, it has been an interesting conversation; in my opinion he is one of the most prepared trainers in the world and I’m glad to be part of his team. I know him and he knows me very well, because he has been one of my father’s friends for years; I’m happy to be one of his players”.
