This morning Diatec Trentino has started to work towards the beginning of the 2016/17 season with all the 5 players that have participated to the Olympic Games in Rio 2016. After the short period of rest following the wonderful experience in the Olympic Games with their national teams, the spikers Oleg Antonov and Filippo Lanza, the setter Simone Giannelli, the libero Massimo Colaci and the middle blocker Sebastian Solé are available for Angelo Lorenzetti and the technical staff and ready to play the first session of the season. Also the physiotherapist Davide Lama will be available, back from Brazil with the players of the National Volleyball team. After the workout in the weight room of PalaTrento, in the afternoon there will be a training in the sports hall in Borgo Valsugana that will open the Mini-retreat in Valsugana.
“The Olympic Games were an amazing experience and an occasion to build a great sense of camaraderie – said Simone Giannelli - . The great thing is that I'll find a big part of that group here in Trentino Volley; It will be an advantage for the team because we will be able to exploit the great chemistry we have. There is a positive atmosphere in the locker room, this morning everyone was ready to work hard and to reach great goals. I'm looking forward to beginning to work with Lorenzetti”. “We really needed a eight-day holiday to recharge our batteries and forget an Olympic final that was not so lucky” stated the captain Filippo Lanza. During this brief period it was nice to see how many people were grateful for what we have done in Rio 2016 . We obtain something important for us but also for the movement. It’s good to start again today this new season with Trentino Volley in a mini-team retreat, in which we can get to know each other and share moments”. “I spent a beautiful summer, full of satisfactions and unforgettable moments, not only because we achieved important results” said Massimo Colaci. “We enjoyed every single moment we spent together, but now it’s high time to think about Trentino Volley, joining the other available players in the mini-team retreat in Valsugana. Now there are imminent appointments on our agenda, one at the end of September that we’ll have to face with great energy because we want to come back to victory. We’ll have to re-establish group dynamics and mechanisms quickly but I don’t think this is going be too difficult”.
“I would have so many things to tell you about my summer with the National Volleyball Team but now it’s time to start training with Diatec Trentino in the run up to an important season. I’ll face it with great energy, positivity and the desire to place myself at the disposal of Trentino Volley as i did for the National Volleyball Team – concluded Oleg Antonov -. I really needed the last week of holiday with my family; I took a break from everything but now I’m ready to come back”.
