The race of Diatec Trentino in the SuperLeague UnipolSai 2016/17 continues at a record pace. The 3-0 victory in the home match against Milano on Sunday night allowed Angelo Lorenzetti's team to remain undefeated in the regular season, winning for the seventh time in seven matches played so far.
In the previous sixteen seasons, Trentino Volley won all the first seven games only in one occasion; it was the season 2010/11, that ended with the victory of an historical treble (Club World Championship in Doha, Champions League in Bolzano and the national Championship in Rome), and the then Itas Diatec Trentino defeated in order Castellana Grotte, Perugia, Monza, Macerata, Modena, Vibo Valentia and Roma: twenty-one set won and only three lost. That team, in which already played Stokr and Colaci, reached the incredible number of twenty-one victories (second all time series for the Italian championship).
The Diatec Trentino 2016/17 did seven out of seven defeating Vibo Valentia, Sora, Padova, Latina, Perugia, Ravenna and Milano, losing only four set (two against Kioene and one against Sir Safety Conad and Bunge). Wednesday evening in Verona Lanza and his teammates will try to extend still further their positive trend, searching for a victory that will be useful not only for the statistics but also in the fight for the first four championship places at the end of the first half of the season.
