President Mosna has said, after the Coppa Italia: “We look ahead with trust and confidence, a lot of people would like to be in our place”

On the day after the conclusion of the Del Monte Coppa Italia 2018 Final Four, the President Diego Mosna wanted to leave on his personal facebook page a thought for the fans with the considerations about his Diatec Trentino. Here is the full text of the post published this morning.

“Right after the defeat in the semifinal of Coppa Italia in Bari, I've read many comments about our team on social networks. I respect every kind of opinion and I'm also glad to see how passionate everybody is in telling them, but I really need to highlight some points:

  • Every member of the team Trentino Volley (athletes, coaches and directors) work and go on the field with the only purpose to win, always;
  • The actual difficulties the team is having in this period are also due to some temporary situations: as far as reception is concerned, for example, we've had to do without one of our best players, that is to say De Pandis, but we still saw a great reaction in Chiappa, who is another product of our youth filed and he's destined to improve his game a lot;
  • In this period we're not playing very well, we're certainly not going to deny that, but it's not fair to use the last defeat we suffered in Bari as the only yardstick to evaluate how we played during the whole season. We need to take into account the fact that we won thirteen matches out of the last sixteen ones.


I would like to end this little speech by saying that this Society played in Bari the ninth Final Four of Coppa Italia in a row (no other Club did better in the last few years) and that on Sunday we will be back on the field for playing the SuperLega, in which we're still holding the fourth position in the ranking. Many teams would like to be at our place. We all need to look at the future with confidence and determination, without forgetting that Trentino Volley is (because of its history and results), the baseline team of this territory and it will still be so in the future!”
