It officially begins tomorrow night, Friday, August 5th, with the opening ceremony, the thirty-first Olympiad of the modern era of Rio de Janeiro 2016. Trentino Volley will once again be among the Society of men's volleyball most represented, bringing in Brazil five athletes in their squad: Italians Oleg Antonov, Massimo Colaci, Simone Giannelli and Filippo Lanza and Argentina's Sebastian Solé - the only Yellow-blue to have already participated previously to another edition (London 2012). Only in Sydney 2000, Trentino Volley boasted a host of their players nourished as in this circumstance. Considering the presence in the blue team of the Trentino Volley physiotherapist Davide Lama, will then be six the teamplayer of the Club of vIA trener for the Olympic Games.
From Sunday, August 7th, first day of competition, everyone will look for the most coveted medal of any sport: the gold that will be assigned starting at 6:15 pm Italian time on Saturday August 21st at Maracanazinho, home to all the races. In the tournament that kicks off in two days, there won’t be yellow-blue derby, at least in the first phase: Italy has been included in the preliminary Pool A along with Brazil, Canada, France, Mexico and the United States, while Argentina will face in the preliminary Group B Cuba, Egypt, Iran, Poland and Russia. Access to the quarterfinals of the top four teams in each group. The debut event will see Antonov, Colaci, Giannelli and Lanza compete immediately with the European champions France (on Sunday, August 7th, at 2.30 pm, the absolute opening round of the men's tournament), while Solé will challenge Iran in the early morning of Monday, August 8th (3:35 am).
