Champions League, Trentino Diatec outstrips Noliko Maaseik and closes Pool E of the main phase in second place

Giannelli (9 personal block) blocked Maan (ph. Trabalza)
Trentino Diatec closes Pool E of 2018 CEV Champions League with a deserved victory for 3-1, guaranteeing itself the second place in the round. Not a great match for Noliko Maaseik that had lost also the first round match against Trentino Diatec and the three precedents played at the PalaTrento, the fight was very balanced but finally they didn’t obtain any point. Even if there isn’t any improvement in ranking, this success (3 points obtained) makes the yellow-blue team the second best team in the placings among five rounds and this could mean finding a softer pairing in the Playoffs12, the first double turn in the board that leads to the Final Four of the 12th -13th of May. Confirming the great results in the last home matches, Trentino Diatec was particularly efficient in the first set and in the following ones, eve if they had some difficulties, they didn’t lose their temper and signed up a point-to-point fight in which they were prevalent in two of the last three sets. Trentino Diatec’s bocks had been crucial for the results, 17 points (7 only in the first set); the best player was Giannelli, who made 9 blocks (best performance ever) and he was voted mvp of the match also for his general performance in the other fundamentals. Best scorer of the match, as it happened four days ago against Sora, is Kovacevic (21 points with 53%)bu also Vettori (17 with 52%) and Kozamernik (12 with 89% in the first set, three blocks and an ace).
