Yesterday afternoon Trentino Diatec returned to Trento after the five sets played on Wednesday night in France. The team left Reims on the morning by train, heading to Paris, where they took the flight that landed in Venice; here the team bus was waiting to drive them home.
Lanza and his teammates will be in PalaTrento on Friday afternoon for the only training session before match 2 of the quarter final series; on Saturday March 17th in Verona Diatec Trentino will have the first chance to win the series and access the semifinals.
“We have played many sets recently, ten overall only in the last two matches - underlined libero Daniele De Pandis -; sometimes we played our best volleyball, sometimes we didn’t. We must work on continuity and perseverance in the sideout phase, something we lacked in the match against Chaumont. In France we struggled to express our game in the central part of the match but nevertheless managed to win one point, which leaves the options to qualify to the Champions League Playoffs 6 open in the return match. Certainly we have to play differently to reach the goal; the same goes for the match against Verona. We expect a different match from game 1, but after all every match against Verona was different this season. We have what it takes to win the series on Saturday and we want to accomplish it. Game 2 is a great chance”.
