Luca Vettori played again as regular player and his throwback coincided with the success of Diatec Trentino which, after four consecutive defeats considering both the Champions League and the Semifinale Playoffs, won the match that allows the team to play (on Thursday 19th in Perugia) the fifth and decisive challenge of the series against the Sir Safety Conad. The winner will join the Final with Civitanova, the current champions.
“During this types of matches the strain can be dangerous – said the yellow-blue opposite talking about the amazing 3-0 of Sunday evening at the BLM Group Arena– ; the result of the first match could influence the rest of the match. Knowing this, we tried to do our best starting from the first minutes, on one hand in order to surprise Perugia and on the other to show ourselves that we could really do it. We managed to keep a good rhythm during the whole match, sometimes getting Perugia into trouble. Giannelli made a very good performance especially guiding the attack in the whole net area; during the decisive moments we managed to attack in a very good way and this has surely made the difference”.
“Game 5 will be still more difficult because it is an away match – said Vettori, with 11 scored points, 58% in the net area – . I believe that also on Thursday we will need determination. This is not something new because what really counts in matches like this is starting in a good way; we will try to do it with the awareness of the fact that in the two previous matches of the series played in Umbria, we have already demonstrated that we can compete at the same level with Sir Safety Conad”.
