The yellow-blues will have a day off before starting their training at BLM Group Arena again to prepare for the fifth and crucial match of Semi-finals Play Off Scudetto UnipolSai 2018 against Sir Safety Conad at PalaEvangelisti. The trainings for the match that will take place on Thursday the 19th of April at 08.30 pm (live broadcast on RAI Sport + HD and Radio Dolomiti) will include two days of hard work.
The tie-breaker match - that decides who win after a number of straight up elimination matches – is a tradition for Trentino Volley during the Play Off Scudetto. In the space of sixteen seasons, in which it took part in the post season phase, the team of Via Trener has already played twelve matches which were similar to that of Thursday and it won eight out of six matches: two against Modena (Season 2005/06, 3-2 at PalaPanini in game 3 gaining the qualification to the semi-finals and Season 2010/11, 3-1 at PalaTrento in game 5 gaining the qualification to the final that it won against Cuneo), two against Piacenza (two matches that bring to the win of the championship : 3-0 at PalaTrento in game 3 of the finals 2008 and 3-2 at PalaTrento in game 5 of the finals 2013), one against Molfetta (3-1 at PalaTrento in the quarter-finals 2016), one against Verona (3-0 at PalaTrento in the quarter-finals of the current Play Off) and two against Perugia (winning during the tie-breaker match at PalaTrento in game 3 of semi-finals 2015 and winning three sets in game 5 of semi-finals 2017). This kind of matches, played on the rivals’ field, seems to have different results: just one victory (against Modena in 2006) out of four opportunities. The most common result is the tie break indeed the fifth set helped Trentino Volley to win six out of twelve tie-breaker matches faced.
