Nationals, first weekend of Volleyball Nations League 2018: Giannelli leads Italy

Kovacevic, Giannelli and Lisinac in Kraljevo

The first weekend of the Preliminary Round of Volleyball Nations League 2018 has a lot of surprises for the four players of Trentino Volley who took the field for the occasion.  Indeed, the players of the club of via Trener have won seven out of nine matches in which the yellow-blue players took part but, of course, they didn’t hit the jackpot because of the game between Giannelli’s Italy and Kovacevic and Lisinac’s Serbia that took place in Kraljevo tonight.
The derby smiled to the Italian setter who, winning with a score of 3-0 on the rivals’ field, ended a weekend of high level in the best way (overcoming also Germany and Brazil). Giannelli was among the main characters of the Italian victory, he obtained many personal satisfactions also in the net area and in service. On the same field Serbia won only on Saturday against Germany, when the Trentino Volley’s middle-blocker and spiker showed the best of their weekend. Positive start for Grebennikov’s team. As a matter of fact France, in Rouen, overtook Iran, Japan and Australia without too many problems and Grebennikov has always played. Next weekend, Italy will be in San Juan (Argentina) and they will play against the home players, Canada and Iran; Serbia, the team of Kovacevic and Lisinac, will play in Sofia against Bulgaria, Russia and Australia, France and its player Grebennikov will play in Lodz against Poland, China and Germany.
