Srecko Lisinac spikes a quick attack (ph. Fivb)

During the third weekend of the 2018 Volleyball Nations League Preliminary Round five players of Trentino Volley played with their teams with excellent results. Six victories out of nine matches with Trentino Volley players involved; an en plein was not possible since Serbia, with Kovacevic and Lisinac, challenged the French team of Grebennikov.
This Yellow-blue derby was eventually won by France 3-0, in the match played in Aix en Provence; the French libero helped his team close the weekend with three victories after defeating also Argentina and Korea, and pulled out an outstanding performance as always. Lisinac and Kovacevic, both not used in the match on Saturday against Korea, contributed to their team with 49 points scored together, with high percentage in attack and a solid performance at blocking. After the weekend, Serbia seems to be one of the strongest pretender for the Final Six qualification, while Italy struggles to keep up.
In Osaka Italy suffered two tie break defeats (against Poland and Japan) and a 3-1 victory against Bulgaria. During the match against Japan, precisely in the third set, Giannelli suffered from a minor right knee injury that will be soon verified through MRI. Davide Candellaro, new middle-blocker of Trentino Volley, only played short parts of the match without having an impact.
Next weekend Italy will play in Seoul (Korea) against home team Korea, Australia and China; Lisinac and Kovacevic will challenge USA, Poland and Iran in Chicago, while France will play in Varna (Bulgaria) against Brazil, Canada and Bulgaria.
