On Sunday the 35th Adige’s Derby at BLM Group Arena: seven former players on the field

Team’s working at BLM Group Arena starting from today to prepare the next match of SuperLega Credem Banca 2018/19. On Sunday November 18th the yellow-blues will come back playing in front of their public facing Calzedonia Verona in the match of the eighth day of regular season; the start of the match is scheduled for 6 p.m.
The team will only train in the afternoon towards the 35th Adige’s Derby, with training sessions including a physical part in the weight room and a more technical-tactical ones on the central field; the technical staff will be able to count on the whole roster at its disposal.
The match of Sunday will see a record number of former players entering the field: there will be in fact five players who will directly face their past: one will be among Trentino Volley’s players and four among Verona’s ones. Talking about Itas Trentino, Uros Kovacevic is the only one who played with the kit of Calzedonia on in the past and was protagonist in Veneto between 2015 and 2017, period in which he won a Challenge Cup and scored710 points in SuperLega with 48 presences. On the other side of the net there will be instead Emanuele Birarelli, famous captain of the last won championship of Diatec Trentino and record man of presences with the yellow-blue kit on together with Colaci with 345 official played matches between 2007 and 2015, and Sebastian Solé, who played in Trento between 2013 and 2017 and scored 1.681 points in 189 matches. The most recent transfer towards Verona is the one of Daniele De Pandis, Trentino libero of last season (41 presences), whereas the oldest ones is the one of Cristian Savani (who played with the yellow-blue kit on between 2004 and 2006 with 682 points scored in 62 presences. The coachs are former men as well: Nikola Grbic played with the yellow-blue kit on between 2007 and 2009, leading his teammates as a setter towards the first historical trophies of the Club of via Trener (championship and Champions League), whereas Angelo Lorenzetti coached Verona in season 2006/07.
The detailed stats of the match between the two teams tells about a Trentino Volley which often managed to prevail (25-9 the total score) and obtain the best it could, as could suggest the 14 3-0 victories and the 5 3-1 ones. The last victory of Calzedonia at BLM Group Arena is dated back to a bit less of a year ago (November 5th 2017) and it was the last match of regular season played in the hall of via Fersina.
