Lausanne Uc-Trentino Itas 0-3, the match report

The report of the match. Angelo Lorenzetti wants Grebennikov to rest and makes Carlo De Angelis start in the starting six in the libero role; the other members of the starting six are: Giannelli as setter, Vettori in the opposite role, Van Garderen and Russell as spikers, Lisinac and Candellaro as middle-blockers. Massimiliano Giaccardi, Italian coach of Lausanne UC presents the following starting six: Chevallier as setter, Feughouo in the opposite role, Kvalen and Prevel as spikers, Stefanovic and Zerika as middle-blockers and Del Valle Villalobos in the libero role. The yellow-blues seem to be very focused at the start of the match with Russell in both attack and block phases and Candellaro at service (ace). Trento starts with a 5-1, forcing the Swiss to ask for a time-out. At the resumption of the game Lausanne UC can’t really perform a comeback and the hosts make the most of this increasing their pace (9-2, 13-4) with two winning blocks of Van Garderen versus Feughouo. The first set is almost already over on 15-5 even if Lorenzetti’s team gets a bit relaxed in the final part and allows the opponents (which now have Pfund as setter) to reduce a bit the gap (21-15). Lisinac (block versus Zerika for 23-18) and Giannelli (quick strike) close the set on 25-18.
Trentino Itas restarts with a good pace in the second set as well (3-1) with Vettori and brilliantly with Giannelli in side-out phase (ace) for the 6-3 that forces Giaccardi to ask for a time-out. At the resumption of the game Lausanne keeps the side-out for a couple of points but then starts again to suffer the Italian game (Lisinac, 13-8). Trento can now quickly run towards the 2-0 also thanks to the great efficiency of Van Garderen in the net area (who scores also with a bagher) and to the good double-change Nelli-Daldello set by Lorenzetti on the main diagonal Giannelli-Vettori.
In the third set Nelli remains on the field in the opposite role but Lausanne manages in keeping the pace of their opponents despite Gabriele’s impact seems quite ok. Trentino Itas accelerates (11-9) after a series of good side-outs (5-5, 8-8), making the most of a couple of mistakes of the Swiss. The preventive time-out asked by Giaccardi is of very little use because Nelli and Russell (service and block) gets their team to +4 (17-13). Lausanne has still some energies to try to comeback with Prevel (22-19) but then gives up in front of the strikes of the Nelli himself (25-20).
