After waiting more than two weeks, the world champions are playing a match again in front of their audience. Trentino Itas will play against Lausanne UC in the return match of CEV cup 2019 at BLM Group Arena on Thursday December 6th. The trainer can count on all the players and he will decide the formation during the training of this evening and tomorrow morning.
BLM GROUP ARENA On Thursday BLM Group Arena will host the fifty-third European home match of the history of Trentino Volley, the twenty-ninth in CEV Cup, where Trentino Volley won twenty-three times (five defeats against Ankara in 2005, Moscow in 2015, Fenerbahce and Tour in 2017). The last home match victory dates back to 12th April 2017 (3-0 in the finals of the going match against Tours in 2017), whereas the most recent continental appearance at BLM Group Arena is dated 11th April 2018: 2-3 with Civitanova in the return match of the Champions league’s playoff. In this case, the yellow-blue team will play the 781st official match in its history, the 154th international (125 victories and 28 defeats).
THE OPPONENTS Lausanne UC arrives for the first time in Trento with the purpose of changing the negative result of the going match. For Lausanne Uc working hard and achieve the qualification of the round of sixteen is the only way to continue the championship. After the going match against Trento, the team trained by the Italian Giaccardi in the Swiss championship, obtained only victories: 3-0 against Lucerna and 3-1 against Schonwerd, victories that allowed the team to reach the third position.

ITAS TRENTINO QUALIFY TO THE ROUND OF SIXTEEN IF... To make it through the round Itas Trentino needs to win two sets; thanks to the 3-0 in the going match, Giannelli and his teammates could lose at the tie break to avoid the golden set against Lausanne UC, which will be played only in case of  four set victory of the Swiss. In fact the regulation is identical to the one used in Playoffs 12 of CEV Champions League. The team that moves into the next turn will face the winning team between Vojvodina Ns Seme Novi Sad (Srb) and Hypo Tirol AlpenVolleys Haching (Ger) (the return is played tonight after the victory of the Germans in the tie break in the going match).
THE FORMULA AND OTHERS MATCHES In the 2019 CEV Cup the teams have to play six double turns - home and away games - (Round of sixty-four - already played -, Round of thirty-two, Round of sixteen, Quarterfinals,  Semifinals and Final) and there is a straight up elimination: the team that in the two matches scores more points, awarded like during the championship: 3 points for victories 3-0 or 3-1, 2 point for the victory at tiebreak, 1 point for the defeat at tiebreak (golden set until 15 in case of tie). PREVIOUS MATCHES This will be the second match between the two teams. The first one was played on the 21st of November in Lausanne with a 3-0 victory of Itas Trentino (25-18, 25-14, 25-20) and Van Garderen best scorer (11 points). During the CEV Champions League 2014, Trentino Volley won against Lugano in the going match (30 October) and in the return match (10 December).
REFEREES The match will be directed by Konstantinos Voudouris, the first referee from Athene (Greece), and by the Albanian Endri Zguri, the second referee of Tirana. Neither directed matches against Trentino Volley.
RADIO AND THE INTERNET The match will be transmitted live on Radio Dolomiti, radio partner of Trentino Volley; the first live connection will be at  8.25 pm.
