2019 CEV Cup, competition against another swiss team during the quarter-finals: Amriswil

The qualification for the quarterfinals allowed Trentino Volley to be part of the eight best team of the competition. To pass the next step the team has to go in a country already visited during this continental championship. In the fourth phase of the final board, Trentino Itas will face a Swiss team as it happened during the round of sixty-four: after Lusuanne there is Lindaren Volley Amriswill who obtained the qualification as the yellow-blue team.
The going match will be played in Switzerland between the 29th and 31st of January, whereas the return match between the 12th and the 14th of February. For the definitive dates and time we have to wait the confirmation of the society, in accordance with the national federation and the CEV. As it happened during the round of thirty-two and the round of sixteen, the team with the highest number of points in the ranking will pass the turn – as for the Superlega championship – 3 points for the 3-0 or 3-1 victory, 2 for the 3-2 victory and 1 for the 3-2 defeat. The golden set will be played only in case of tie.

The identikit of the Trentino Itas’ opposing
Lindaren Volley Amriswil is one of the main team in Swiss volleyball. Born in 1969, the Club that refers to Amriswil (a town of about 13,000 inhabitants, in the canton of Thurgau, bordering Lake Constance) began to establish itself nationally only twenty years later, beginning to conquer results of ever-greater level and disputing the European Cups. That is in fact its fifteenth participation in the CEV Cup, where the team have never passed the round of sixteen. In this edition, the team reached its best result. The roster, whose trainer is the Dutch Marco Klok (famous among the fans of Italian volley as he played in Serie A with the t-shirts of Città di Castello, Naples and Forlì) can count on the experience of Ljubicic and Kamnik, on the Austrian opposite Zass. The setter is the Canadian Howatson who collected experiences also in the Spanish, French and Turkish championship. The same for Daniel, the libero. Currently the team is the number one in the Swiss championship. Lindaren Volley qualified for the quarter-finals, eliminating the Dutch from the round of thirty-two and the Bosnian in the round of sixteen.
