Itas Trentino-BCC Castellana Grotte 3-0, the match report

Report of the match. The two starting six don’t show any surprise: Lorenzetti fields Giannelli as setter, Vettori in the opposite role, Lisinac and Candellaro as middle-blockers, Kovacevic and Russell as spikers and Grebennikov in the libero role. Di Pinto fields Falaschi as setter, Zingel (who was awarded before the start of the match because of his first time as a former player) in the opposite role, Mirzajanpour and Wlodarczyk as spikers, Scopellitti and De Togni as middle-blockers and Cavaccini in the libero role.
The start of the match is branded Zingel, who immediately scores two points (3-4) and then the 6-6 one as well. Aidan scores a new advantage for his team as well (8-9) followed by a mistake of Vettori from the second line (9-11); Candellaro finds a draw with ance (12-12). Itas Trentino changes pace with Kovacevic at service and Russel in counterattack and gets ahead to +3 (16-13, time out BCC) and then +5 (19-14) when Lisinac scores an ace few moments later. The final part of the set sees the hosting team increasing the gap (23-16, two aces of Russell) and getting on 1-0 which comes on 25-18 with an inspired Vettori.
Castellana Grotte tries to react at the start of the second set, making the most of a good moment of its service and of Zingel in the net area, BCC gets three points of advantage (4-7) which Trento struggles to recover (6-9), at least until Kovacevic starts being on fire in the net area and Grebbinokov from the second line one. Itas Trentino finds the draw on 10-10 and then overcomes its opponents (12-10 and 15-11) taking the lead of the match with an unstoppable Uros and a precise Vettori. The set is almost won on 18-12 already and the opposite from Emilia further improves the situation with his attacks and services (22-16) and finds the 2-0 (25-17, quick-strike of Candellaro).
In the third set Lorenzetti fields again Codarin, who entered in place of Lisinac at the end of the first set; Lorenzo proves his quality with a block against Wlodarczyk which is worth the first advantage on 6-5. The match gets very balanced until 11-11, when another block of Codarin (this time against Mirzajanpour’s pipe) allows the sprint on +2 (13-11). This is the opportunity that helps the World Champions to end the match: Kovacevic (on fire in attack) and Giannelli make their team fly on 3-0 (18-12, 21-15) which comes on 25-10, after a great attempt of the hosts to fill the gap (23-20).
