2019 Cev Cup, the returning match of the quarterfinals on Wednesday at the BLM Group Arena

The returning matches for the quarterfinals of 2019 CEV Cup will take place between 13th and 14th February, for the second most important European competition. Itas Trentino is about to play its sixth European match of the season, the fourth at home: on Wednesday, at the BLM Group Arena it will face Lindaren Volley Amriswil, already defeated 3-0 in Swiss on 30th January 2018. The match is set for 8.30 pm Italian time: live on Radio Dolomiti.
HERE ITAS TRENTINO To continue along the path of this European competition and to aim for another international prestigious result, our team has to win two sets. It would be enough to qualify for the next round, considering that they have already won 3-0 in the going match .
Angelo Lorenzetti has to consider the physical conditions of some players: we must not be taken lightly this match also for this reason. “Starting from the match on Wednesday, a period different from the others that we lived up until now during this season will start – specified the coach - . In the next fifteen days we will necessarily visit the infirmary and maybe we will often need the players urgently, we will need some players to recover as well as possible. I will consider until the very last minute which starting six will need to play, but I hope that whoever will play will do so with the right attention and concentration because Amriswil is a team that can’t be underrated. Even though they have a lower absolute level they can cause us some problems, as it already happened in the third set of the going match”.
The training sessions on this evening and on Wednesday morning will be useful to take away any last doubt of starting six, where for sure Lisinac (who’s dealing with a problem in his calf that already limited him during the match played on Saturday evening in Bologna) won’t be and that could do without Giannelli and Kovacevic, that feel pain respectively in the abdominals and in the back.
56TH EUROPEAN MATCH AT THE BLM GROUP ARENA On Wednesday evening the BLM Group Arena will host the 56th European home match in the history of Trentino Volley, the 33rd of CEV Cup, where up until now it won twenty-seven matches (only five defeats: two against Ankara in 2005, one against Moscow in 2015, one against Fenerbahce and Tour in 2017). The last victory at a home match in CEV Cup dates back to less than a month ago (16th January, 3-1 in the return match in the round of sixteen against Haching). Trentino Itas in this case will play the 798th official match of its history, the 157th international (report: 129 victories and 28 defeats).
THE OPPONENTS Lindaren Volley Amriswil arriver, for the first time in its history, in Trento with the goal of turn the negative result round of the going match and don’t give more than one set to Trentino Itas. TRENTINO ITAS IN SEMIFINAL IF… In order to pass the round Trentino Itas will need to win only two sets, thanks to the victory of the going match for 3-0, Giannelli and his teammates could in fact lose at the tie break to avoid the possibility of golden set against Lindaren Volley Amriswil, that will be played only if the Swiss team wins in four sets. The regulation is in fact identical to that used in the Playoffs 12 phase of CEV Champions League. The team that qualifies will face the winning team of the match Olympiacos Piraeus-Neftohimic Burgas (the return match will be played on Thursday evening, after the victory of the Bulgarians in four sets during the going match).
