Trentino Itas-Lindaren Volley Amriswil 3-0, the report of the match

Commentary of the match. There is news on the court of Itas Trentino: Angelo Lorenzetti has to do without Giannelli, Lisinac and Kovacevic and so he lines up Daldello as setter, Vettori as opposite, Van Garderen and Russell as wing spikers, Codarin and Candellaro as middle-blockers, Grebennikov as libero; Marko Klok, coach of Lindaren Volley, lines up Howatson as setter, Zass as opposite, Gommans and Djokic as wing spikers, Ljubicic and Kamnik as middle blocker, Daniel as libero.
At the beginning of the match the opponents prevail (0-4) but Itas Trentino doesn’t give up and with Russell they are able to catch up 6-6 (tackle in net area by Candellaro). Van Garderen blocks Djokic and the team takes the lead (8-7) also thanks to Candellaro’s ace (10-8). Things don’t change in the middle of the set (14-12); later, Djokic makes a mistake that means +3 (18-15) and forced the Swiss players to ask for a time out. After it, Howatson’s serve makes them hope for an improvement of the situation (19-19). Thanks to the block of Russell and the counterattack of Vettori the set ends 25-22. During the second set Trentino Itas immediately takes on the lead and thanks to a long serve turn by Vettori the team reaches 9-1, with Klok who has already spent one time out trying to put some hurdles to the unstoppable Itas. Daldello shows his good ability in the serve, as much as Codarin does bringing the team to 14-5, moment in which Lindaren Volley spends another time out. The way to the 2-0 (and the consequential qualification to the semifinals) is a very easy ride for the World Champions (18-5, 21-11) and Lorenzetti seizes the moment to line up also Nelli, Cavuto and the baby Michieletto before Codarin scores 25-13 (2-0) with two great blocks. In the initial part of the third set the match seems to be quite balanced, partial during which Trento confirms Cavuto and Nelli as members of the official roster; Trentino Itas gains a promising advantage at 8-6 thanks to Oreste and then Nelli (serve and attack) brings the team even higher (14-8). Klok decides to line up the second players and Lorenzetti as well with Michieletto around the 19-11; it’s matter of a very few minutes and the final 3-0 arrives right thanks to the firm attack by Michieletto (25-16).
