Semifinal going match of 2019 CEV Cup: in Athens Trentino Itas wins 3-0 vs Olympiacos

Another success for Trentino Itas in Greece. Tonight in Athens the World Champions have won 3-0 against Olympiacos Piraeus in the going match of semifinal of 2019 CEV Cup, which means that they are getting closer and closer to the qualification for the last double turn of the European competition. In order to conquer the pass for their 7th continental final match, Trentino Volley should win at least two sets during the return match, which will be played in seven days in Trento.
At Melina Merkouri Lorenzetti’s team has shown its determination and its ability in attack (72% by the team) and block, especially thanks to Giannelli.
The performance of the team’s captain has been excellent as setter and in the net area; he scored seven blocks and three touches that let him close the match as fourth scorer of the team. In addition, it has been great the performance of Vettori (best scorer with 15 points and 80%), Russell (11 with 79%) and Kovacevic (13 with 59%). The third set has been the only one played point to point but Itas Trentino has been able to stay focused and shut up the 1800 fans of the Olympiacos closing the match with a victory.
