Olympiacos Piraeus-Trentino Itas 0-3, the match report

Commentary of the match. At Melina Merkouri in Athens Trentino Itas shows up in front of 1800 spectators; Lorenzetti chooses Giannelli as setter, Vettori as opposite, Russell and Kovacevic as spikers, Candellaro and Lisinac as middle-blockers, Grebennikov as libero.
Olympiacos lines up Tervaportti as setter, Schmitt as opposite, Rauwerdink and Aleksiev as spikers, Petreas and Boehme as middle-blockers, Stefanou as libero.
The match begins in the right way for Itas Trentino: Giannelli scores three blocks (4-1, 6-3) but Boehme is able to recover (6-6). Trentino Itas immediately responds with Kovacevic and Russell (9-7) and then with Vettori (15-10). In the second part of the set Itas Trentino prevails, thanks to Candellaro and Lisinac (19-13), who quickly close the set 25-17.
In the second set Olympiacos tries to respond (1-4) but the two Candellaro’s aces restore the balance (5-5). Later, Trentino Itas takes the lead (13-9) thanks to the performances of Candellaro and Vettori. Olympiacos doesn’t accept it and tries to recover with Boehme until 16-14.
Itas does not give up and with Kovacevic they manage to gain a promising score (20-16), that then gets even better thanks to Russsell and Vettori in attack (25-19). The result of the third set is definitely more unsure, since they get to 9-9 point by point, just then Trento tries and takes the lead with Vettori (12-10). The hosting team fights back with Boehme (12-13), forcing Lorenzetti to interrupt the game; once again the match goes on shot by shot (15-15, 20-19) until 23-23. One break point by Boehme concedes the first ball set to the Greeks (23-24); Itas coach calls  another time out and coming back he finally gets what he really wanted: break at 3-0 (26-24) thanks to the attack by the position n.2 Kovacevic, who takes the game to an end with a well-deserved 3-0.
