BLM Group Arena, Giannelli joins the group

While the team wait for the participants in the Final Four of the Europeans 2019 (Cebulj, Grebennikov, Kovacevic and Lisinac), who will already be available at the beginning of next week, starting from today Itas Trentino can count on its Captain. Simone Giannelli took part in today afternoon’s training with the group but won’t be available for the test match of tomorrow, Thursday 3 October at 6:30 pm, at the BLM Group Arena, where Itas Trentino will face the Belgian team of BDO Hassrode Leuven (it will carry out different work).
“I’m ready and motivated to start another year with the team – said the team’s setter - ; I’ve followed the activities of my teammates from afar, thanks to Trentino Volley’s social networks, and I’ve noticed that all of them are very determined to get to the beginning of the Championship in the best possible way. I’m glad that before the debut in Ravenna I will be able to train for two full weeks with my teammates, as in the past I’ve had this occasion to improve the understandings only few times, but I’ll take advantage of it also to improve my form. Luckily not many players of the starting six have changed, but we don’t want to give anything for granted; we know we have to work more than the others in order to achieve big goals and we are going to do it, since we can also count on Cebulj and Djuric, the new players that will help us a lot.”
On the occasion of the unofficial friendly match on 3rd  October at the BLM Group Arena with free entry, Lorenzetti’s team is going to face a big challenge. The Leuven team is currently in Italy to take a serie of test matches, to improve their competitivity before the beginning of the national championship (set for 16th October). In the opponent’s roster a known face is the one of the left-handed opposite hitter Gert Van Walle (already in Italy in Macerata and Città di Castello). Thanks to the the fifth place in the rankings of the last First Belgian League, the BDO Hassrode is going to take part in the Challenge Cup for the second year in a row, it only reached the quarterfinals of this European competition in the previous season.
