On Sunday evening at the BLM Group Arena the first home match of SuperLega

On Sunday evening there will be the second match of regular season of SuperLega Credem Banca 2019/20. For Itas Trentino this will be the long awaited first home match of the season: the World Champions will host Vero Volley Monza at the BLM Group Arena. The starting whistle is planned for 18:00: live coverage on Radio Dolomiti and live streaming on Lega Volley Channel (www.elevensports.it).
HERE ITAS TRENTINO A little over five months after the last match (on April 22 – match 3 of championship semi-finals against Civitanova), the World Champions come back for an official match for its own audience, looking for confirmation after the successful match won last week in Ravenna. Besides, the past week has been the first week of preparation with the full team, which have had the possibility to train with attention. “Not much has changed after what I had declared before last Sunday’s match in Romagna, because we’re just at the beginning of regular season and the qualities are still just theoretical – admonished the coach Angelo Lorenzetti talking about the commitment - . Instead, reality talks about a period in which we still need to find our game dynamics and work hard if we want to improve. We must focus on technic; it would mean a lot to us to give our audience a victory after many months without seeing us playing live, but we know that it won’t be easy at all. Monza is one of the teams that improved the most during the summer to try and make a qualitative leap and find its place among the first four teams. The team will surely be penalized by Orduna’s absence during the first phase of the tournament, but it knew that it would have to come to term with this fact and so it worked hard during the preparation for his disqualification”.
In preparation for Sunday’s match Itas Trentino won’t have any problem regarding the formation and in the afternoon it will train with all the players, as Kovacevic will be available as well (on Friday he was in Sofia to accept the MVP award).
Fifteen times out of nineteen seasons of national championship, Trentino Volley won the first home match: the only four defeats were in the years 2004/05 (Trento-Perugia 1-3), 2006/07 (Trento-Taranto 2-3), 2012/13 (Trento-Vibo 1-3) and 2017/18 (Trento-Milan 2-3). The one on Sunday will be the official match number 817 for Itas Trentino, number 375 at the BLM Group Arena, where the team collected 298 victories up till now and it hasn’t lost a match in regular season since January 20 (1-3 against Civitanova).
VETTORI AT HIS HUNDREDTH MATCH WITH TRENTINO VOLLEY JERSEY In this occasion Luca Vettori will play his hundredth match with Trentino Volley, being just the third player of the current roster to reach the triple digit; only Giannelli (who will reach 245 matches on Sunday) and Djuric (134 matches) are ahead of him. In the 99 matches played up till now (48 in the regular season 2017/18, 50 in 2018/19 and one in the current season), the opposite from Emilia-Romagna scored 1058 points (469 in 2017/18, 575 in 2018/19, 1 in 2019/20).
FIRST HOME MATCH WITH MONZA LIKE IN THE SEASON 2011/12 The first home match of the season against Monza brings back old memories. Already in the regular season 2011/12, indeed, Itas Trentino’s first home match had been against a team from Monza. It had been a lucky occasion, since the then Itas Diatec Trentino won against Acqua Paradiso Monza after three sets on September 25, 2011.
