Trentino Volley and Coppa Italia: the eighteenth participation starts on Thursday
The Knock-off match scheduled for Thursday 23 January in Milan, at Allianz Powervolley (8.45 pm), will inaugurate the Trentino Volley 18th participation in the Italian Cup quarterfinals. Trentino Volley has passed the quarterfinals twelve times, thus reaching the Final Four: in 2001/2002 (3-0 victory vs Montichiari), in 2005/06 winning against Macerata (3-1), in 2009/10 3-0 victory vs Perugia, in 2011/12, in 2012/13 when Trentino Volley won vs Perugia at PalaTrento, in 2013/14 when won vs Modena, in 2014/15 when Trentino Volley exceeded Piacenza, in 2015/16 victory vs Molfetta, in 2016/17 and 2017/18 3-0 victory vs Monza and 2018/19 when Trentino Volley exceeded Verona.
Trentino Volley won three times in this competition: January 31, 2010 in Montecatini Terme thanks to the 3-1 victory vs Cuneo, on February 19, 2012 vs PalaLottomatica in Rome and December 30, 2012 3-0 victory vs Lubat at Assago Forum. Overall, the finals played are seven, taking into account also the one lost with Cuneo (2010/11), Modena (2014/15 and 2015/16) and Civitanova (2016/17).
In the other five matches the elimination came at the quarterfinals: in 2002/03 against Macerata, in 2003/04 against Cuneo, in 2004/05, in 2007/08 and in 2008/09 against Treviso.
For Trentino Volley the challenge at PalaLido (now called Allianz Cloud) will be the first match in its history against the Powervolley Milano.
