The fourth match in the Pool A of the CEV Champions League on Thursday in Turkey

The 2020 CEV Champions League is back on the field during the last week of January to play the fourth round of the Main Phase, the first of the return round. On Thursday 30th, in Turkey, Trentino Itas will start the phase of Pool A on the field of Fenerbahce HDI Sigorta Istanbul. The beginning of the match is scheduled for 4pm Italian time (6pm local time), live on Radio Dolomiti and DAZN.
HERE ITAS TRENTINO. After overcoming the first European defeat of the season, the yellow-blue team necessarily needs to return to win in Turkey in order to play in the quarterfinals.
"The knockout obtained last Sunday in Civitanova Marche forces us to win here in Istanbul - says the coach Angelo Lorenzetti - . We know very well the value of the opponent, his skills and the difficulties that a match of this kind presents. Our physical condition is not easy, but we will have to stay focused and give everything to win, regardless of the formation we can line up".
The coach of Trentino Itas will once again be able to count on the opposite Luca Vettori (kept at rest on Sunday as a precaution) and will use the last training sessions before the match to see if he can actually use at least one player between Russell and Kovacevic (players struggling with shoulder problems).
SIXTH TRIP TO TURKEY IN THE HISTORY OF TRENTINO VOLLEY. The one that started on Tuesday morning and will end in the late afternoon of Friday (the return to Trento is expected around 4pm on 31 January) is the sixth ever Trentino Volley trip to Turkey: on 26th March 2019 at the Burhan Felek Voleybol Salonu the yellow-blu team won the CEV Cup. For the third time in its history, the yellow-blue club will play in the densely populated metropolis. The team had already played a match on March 1, 2017 (2-3 defeat against Fenerbahce in the 2017 CEV Cup semi-final return match). The absolute debut in Turkey took place on December 15, 2004, when the then Itas Diatec Trentino played in Ankara the return of the round of sixteen of the CEV Cup, losing 1-3 and then eliminated from the competition. The challenge will represent the 128th European match in the history of Trentino Volley, the 88th ever in the Champions League.
THE OPPONENTS. Thursday afternoon is the last chance for Fenerbahce to stay in the championship. The team closed the going round of Pool A with a defeat, scoring just two points. The return, after a year of absence, to the European cups, has not therefore reserved much satisfaction to the historic club of Istanbul (the most important and renowned sports club in the country, with millions of fans around the world), which earned this right thanks to the double win (National Cup Championship) obtained in the previous season. Coach Sordyl still does not know if he will be able to use one of the main points of reference of his game; after the first match on December 12th the French spiker Rossard didn't play because of an injury.
Fenerbahce reached the top of the Turkish championship standings after winning the home match against Izmir 3-2 on Saturday. The roster of Fenerbahce HDI Sigorta Istanbul: 1. Ulas Kiyak (p), 2. The next and penultimate round will be played on February 13th with the Trento-Civitanova and Budejovice-Fenerbahce challenges.
