2020 CEV Champions League, Trentino Itas in Istanbul 308 days after winning the CEV Cup

In the early afternoon today Trentino Itas arrived in Istanbul, finding contact with the Turkish metropolis 308 days after the last time. A particularly significant precedent, because it was here on 26 March 2019 that the Gialloblù won the eighteenth title in the history of Trentino Volleyball - the ninth international title for the Gialloblù Club.
Even though no trophy was awarded, the engagement on Thursday at 4:00 pm at the Fenerbahce HDI Sigorta's house also plays a fundamental role in the European seasonal path of Lorenzetti's formation. Giannelli and his team-mates must take the win to continue to fulfil their dreams of qualifying for the quarter-finals of the top European competition, with the top five and the best second of the five rounds. In order to prepare for this event in the best way, it was decided to travel from Trento to Istanbul by bus to Bologna airport and then by scheduled flight, which took the team directly to their destination by dinnertime after an eight-hour journey.
The Trentino team is made up of technical, medical and management staff and fourteen players. Given the physical problems that are affecting the last days of Russell and Kovacevic, it was decided to bring Alessandro Michieletto to Turkey, providing the roster with an extra hitter spiker. On Wednesday afternoon, Trentino Itas will have its first contact with Burhan Felek Voleybol Salonu, where he has already played twice in the recent past (April 2017 and March 2019).
