On Sunday Itas Trentino at Piacenza for the 18th round of SuperLega

The SuperLega Credem Bank 2019/20  will play the eighteenth round of the regular season over the weekend. On this occasion Itas Trentino will be at PalaBanca in Piacenza on February 2nd , guest of Gas Sales seventh in the standings. The starting whistle is scheduled for 6pm: Radio Dolomiti and Lega Volley Channel live.
HERE ITAS TRENTINO After the parenthesis dedicated in the last two weeks to the Italian Cup and Champions League, Itas Trentino is back to play a league match, facing the fourth consecutive away game after those experienced in quick succession in the last ten days in Milan, Civitanova Marche and Istanbul. The hectic pace imposed by the calendar of this phase of the season, the imperfect physical condition of some players of the squad and the value of the opponent will require particular attention to the match on Emilian soil, as explained on the eve of the match by coach Angelo Lorenzetti: "Piacenza is probably the team that came out most refreshed by the rest of the championship - he says - . Since the resumption of the regular season has in fact been able to play volleyball even more effective, especially during the ball change, which makes it a very competitive and even more determined opponent than the one seen in the first part of the tournament. Our hope is to be able to recover just for this occasion a few effective players, so that we can play to the end our chances of victory at the PalaBanca. We will need competition, determination and the right ability to interpret the game".
Returning from Turkey only on Friday afternoon, the team will undergo a training session at the BLM Group Arena in the first evening today and then will leave for Piacenza, with the coach from Trentino who will decide only at the last minute which formation to propose for this occasion, also evaluating the conditions of Russell, Kovacevic and Candellaro, who will be regularly available.
Piacenza's match will be the 837th official match in the history of Trentino Volley, the 22nd season (15 victories and 6 defeats), the 498th regular season and will see the Club Giallobl
ù return to play at PalaBanca after two years and three months of absence.
THE
OPPONENTS Reduce from two consecutive three-point wins (at home with Verona and in Reggio Calabria against Vibo Valentia), Gas Sales Piacenza awaits the visit of Itas Trentino with a ranking position that, for the first time in this regular season, would see it qualified for the Play Off Scudetto. For more victories than the other three, the team coached by Andrea Gardini precedes to the seventh place Verona, Ravenna and Monza that have the same points in the ranking (18). The advantage of the Emilians is mainly due to the fundamentals of the block (scored 22 times in the last two matches – third team of the championship for number of block realized) and the service (15 aces between the matches with Calzedonia and Tonno Callipo), but especially for the great Dutch spiker with Italian passport Kooy, top scorer of the season with 278 points scored in 16 matches and fifth spiker of the championship. In constant growth also Nelli (out due to injury during the first round), meanwhile in middle position the Serbian couple Stankovic – Kkrsmanovic guarantees a constant contribution (seconds blockers of the championship, behind the compatriot Lisinac). Piacenza during this regular season have already played at PalaBanca eight matches, losing only those played with the first three of the class (Civitanova, Perugia and Modena, always 3 – 0).
THE PREVIOUS The competition between Trento and Piacenza is back only this season in the highest Italian championship, after only a championship of rest (the last in which the Emilian team had had to deal with a restart in the A2 League).
With the match on Sunday, the matches played between the two teams will be 56: the analysis is in favour of Trentino Volley for 37 -18, especially for the 21 victories in the last 26 head-to-head. The last one in the match played during the first round the 13th of November at the BLM Group Arena closed on 3-1 (25-20, 25-21, 19-25, 25-14) and Vettori MVP (21 points, 62% at the net, three blocks and two aces).
