SuperLega, the traditional a22 derby on sunday evening at BLM Group Arena

The twenty-first round of SuperLega Credem Banca 2019/20 regular season will be played on Sunday 16th February. Itas Trentino will play again at BLM Group Arena vs Leo Shoes Modena for the traditional A22 derby. The beginning of the match is scheduled at 8.30 p.m: live on RAI Sport + and Radio Dolomiti.
HERE ITAS TRENTINO. Much of the chances of getting the third place in the league are in this match, where the yellow-blue team is still undefeated in the return round. Also, the team has behind it the four sets played Thursday night against Civitanova (the only team able to impose the stop in 2020) in the Champions League. It will be a match to face with enthusiasm to play a beautiful and a high-level volleyball". In view of the match, the coach of Itas Trentino also recovers Aaron Russell who was kept at precautionary rest on Thursday in the match against Civitanova. The U.S. spiker in the last two days trained regularly with the group and will be in the starting-six. The match against Modena will be the 841st official match in the history of Trentino Volleyball, the 386th home match, in which the yellow-blue Club will try to will for the 587th time ever, possibly it will be the 307th victory at BLM Group Arena.
THE OPPONENTS. After more than fourteen months of absence, Leo Shoes Modena returns to the BLM Group Arena. In 2020 Andrea Giani's team won all the eight matches played (six regular season and two CEV Cup), leaving only three sets to the opponents: one in Cisterna, one at Lube and one in Wednesday's match in Ostrava (Czech Republic), won with several players at rest. Among the protagonists of Modena is the Polish spiker Bednorz, constantly among the best (ninth bomber of the tournament with 269 points, 30 less than Zaytsev), but also the setter Christenson. Modena is the team of the entire regular season that collects the most points in the service (154 aces in 19 matches, with an average of 2.33 per set), thanks to top players like Anderson, Bednorz, and Zaytsev. The last Modena’s ko dates back to December 26, 2019: defeat in four sets in Padua.
PREVIOUS MATCHES. Modena is the opponent that Trentino Volley has challenged the most times in its eighteen and a half years of activity. The 74th official match will be played on Sunday. In recent seasons, however, the challenge has given many opportunities to play; from December 21, 2014, until today, the two teams have faced each other twenty-six times, with fourteen Trentino’s victories.
The going match, played on November 24th at PalaPanini, was won by Modena for 3-1 (22-25, 25-23, 25-22, 25-21 with Zaytsev mvp) and interrupted a series of five victories of Itas Trentino. The BLM Group Arena was conquered by Modena eight times in thirty-one previous games, the last on April 25th 2016 (1-3) in round 4 of the Scudetto semifinal. The most recent match at the BLM Group Arena wan on the 16th of December 2018 (home victory in four sets).

THE REFEREES The match will be directed by Armando Simbari (from Milan, in Serie A since 2007 and international from 2016) and Dominga Lot (from Santa Lucia di Piave - Treviso, in Serie A from 2010 and international from 2017). This is the first time in this season that Simbari directs a match with Trentino Volley; the last one April 16th 2019 in game 1 of the Play Off semifinal lost at home at the tie break against Civitanova. For Lot it is the third match with Trento; the last one was directed on November 17th in Milan (victory for 3-1) and on December 25th at the BLM Group Arena (another 3-1 against Ravenna).
TV, RADIO AND INTERNET The match will be a global media event, live broadcast on all types of media. It will be broadcast on RAI Sport +, at channel 57 in hd and 58 in sd of digital tarrestrial and on the satellite platform of Sky at channel 227. There will be the commentary of Maurizio Colantoni and Andrea Lucchetta; the match will also be broadcast on the internet RaiPlay application and will count on continental visibility (twelve connected nations) on Sportklub (Serbia, Kosovo, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Slovenia, Macedonia, Montenegro) , Match TV (Russia), Polsat (Poland), BTV Bulgaria, DSmart (Turkey), and on the channels of SportRadar agency.

"MELINDA DAY" On this occasion will take place the "Melinda Day". After the very successful initiatives of the previous seasons, Melinda and the Trentino Volley will prepare a series of initiatives to promote the important collaboration even more widely. The audience that will crowd the stands will find the building, the “Agorà” hospitality room and the official match program characterized by the colours and the Melinda logo. Also, the special prize that will be given to the best player of the match will be branded Melinda.
