SuperLega, back on the field for the advanced match of the 25th round at BLM Group Arena

Starting from the next week, the Italian volleyball will play again after the postponement of matches of the past week to deal with the health emergency related to the Coronavirus. Itas Trentino will be the first team to return to the field, hosting Globo Banca Popolare del Frusinate Sora on the evening of Monday 2 March at BLM Group Arena. The beginning of the match is scheduled at 7.00 pm; access to the arena limited to subscribers only. Live on Radio Dolomiti and Lega Volley Channel.
HERE ITAS TRENTINO. With nine days behind them without playing any matches, the yellow-blue team is ready to start again playing against Sora in a match that would have been scheduled for the second half of March. The advanced match is necessary because on the date originally scheduled for the match (Wednesday, March 18) they will recover the matches that were not played on Sunday, March 1, including Itas Trentino-Top Volley Cisterna (which will be played on March 18 at 20.30). The team took advantage of the period without official commitments to work hard in the gym and finally with the whole roster available. "After eight days without matches it is important to have the opportunity to face an opponent again, also in view of the next match of Thursday in the Champions League against Jastrzebski - explained coach Angelo Lorenzetti presenting the match - . The match against Sora is therefore a good challenge, also because it will be played in a half-empty arena and against an opponent who plays a good volleyball. Despite being last in the standings, Globo Banca Popolare del Frusinate has kept unchanged its volleyball style that it presented in previous seasons. It's a game that must be played with the right mentality". In view of the match, the coach of Itas Trentino has the whole roster at his disposal. In the last few days, Kovacevic, who could play in the starting six, has also trained with the group. The match against Sora will be the 844th official match in the history of Trentino Volleyball, the 388th home match, in which the yellow-blue Club will play for the 589th overall victory, potentially the 307th at the BLM Group Arena.
THE OPPONENTS. Globo Banca Popolare del Frusinate Sora will be in Trento on Monday evening without its best player and captain. In the last days the Club from Lazio has in fact terminated the contract with the Brazilian spiker Joao Rafael, who will end the season in the French championship with the Tours jersey. The team that will be at the BLM Group Arena will therefore be a new version of the Lazio starting-six, with coach Colucci who will inevitably have to rely on other resources (such as the opposite Miskevich and the middle blocker Caneschi - ninth blocker of the tournament).
PREVIOUS MATCHES Trentino Volley and Argos Volley Sora played seven matches among the SuperLega 2016/17, 2017/18, 2018/19 and the going round of this championship match. The yellow-blue team lost only three sets: the first in Trento on December 16th 2016, the second in Frosinone on December 17th 2017 and the third in Veroli on October 21st 2018. The most recent match played at the BLM Group Arena was on December 29th 2018: 3-0 with Vettori mvp (17 points); the result was also identical in the going round leg played in Lazio last December 15th and won with set of 25-20, 25-21, 25-16 with Russell best player (9 points).
THE REFEREES The match will be directed by Gianfranco Piperata (from Bologna, in Serie A since 2012) and Andrea Pozzato (from Bolzano, in the main league since 2004). For Piperata this is the fourth season in SuperLega; the most recent match with Trentino Volley was on January 27th 2019 (3-1 victory at Cisterna). For Pozzato it is the ninth game in this regular season, the second with Trento, which was directed on November 20th at the BLM Group Arena (defeat at the tie break against Padua).
