News in the technical staff: the trainer is Lorenzo Barbieri

The management of the team is very active in these days not only to define the new roster that will be made available to Angelo Lorenzetti, but also to complete the staff that will support the coach throughout the 2020/21 season. With Assistant Coach Francesco Petrella and scoutman Mattia Castello already under contract, the Club has extended by one year the agreement with physiotherapist Alessandro Russo (who will continue his adventure in Trento, started in 2017) and found the person who will succeed Alessandro Guazzaloca, who we would like to thank for the excellent work done in the last three seasons.
The new trainer of Itas Trentino will be Lorenzo Barbieri, an already known name in the national volleyball scene, as he has worked in SuperLega in Perugia and Piacenza, his home city. He was born in 1993, he graduated from the University of Milan with a degree in Physical Education and then started working in the football scene still very young, before moving to volleyball in 2016. He arrives in Trento full of expectations and with the will to achieve other victories, after the successful two years spent in Umbria with Sir Safety Conad between 2017 and 2019 (one Scudetto, two Coppa Italia and one Supercoppa Italiana).
“Although he is very young, Lorenzo is a trainer who already has quite a bit of experience at high levels – said Trentino Volley General Manager Bruno Da Re - . We are convinced that his enthusiasm and his ability will be very useful to us for a season like the next one, in which the physical preparation will surely make the difference, as we will have to play many matches in just a few months. While I welcome Barbieri in Trento, I would like to say goodbye with affection and thank a professional and a friend, Alessandro Guazzaloca, who has offered a very important contribution in his three seasons of collaboration”.
