Champions League, on Friday in Luxembourg the drawing of lots: Giannelli special guest

The first official part of the tenth participation of Trentino Volley in the CEV Champions League will be celebrated on Friday, the 21st of August in Luxembourg. Starting at 12:30 pm (Italian hour) at the Broadcasting Center Europe (BCE) of the Grand Duchy there will be the global draw of the 2021 CEV Champions League, which Trentino Volley will compete for starting from the preliminary phase thanks to the wild card granted by the European Federation. In the ballot box will be inserted thirty-six teams: eighteen already qualified to the Main Phase (among which there are the other three Italian teams: Civitanova, Modena and Perugia), that will be drawn already in the main groups based on four different levels of ranking, and other eighteen who will compete for the last two places still available in the qualifying phase. For this reason the ''drawing'' of the main phase will be characterized by two ''X'' that will be known only at the end of October. It will be at this point that Trentino Volley will know the names of the two opponents that will have to confront between September and October in a round of three in the first preliminary turn. Only after having defined the six groups, the CEV will decide - in accord with the Clubs - if in this phase of the event will be played only one round robin (organized at home by only one of the three Clubs in question) or if will be played (as originally established by the regulations) three dfferent round robin (one at home of every Club). At the second, and last, preliminary turn will enter only the first placed in the six groups who will face each other again in two rounds composed by three teams: the two winners will be qualified to the Main Phase.
At the ''Drawing of Lots'' will take part, as special guest, also the Trentino Volley's team captain Simone Giannelli, that will have to draw the combinations of the five rounds of the women's and male's Main Phase of the competition.
The entire event will be broadcasted from the Youtube Channel of the CEV.
